What makes you think that your bike or 'you' need to go for top overhaul & if it's top overhaul then what to do with the clutch plate & clutch spring (is it on top?).

Bike problems or need solution pls call/sms 98631534 boon, willing to give advise base on what I know.

a certain feelings of clutch slip or so on..ask the mech to check.. for top overhaul i am not too sure how many wear and tear they will find inside of ur top. They will sure clean ur valves and granba off those carbon tars built up on top of ur pistons.Tension/Timming chain/Rings and more, they will see from there weather it need to be replace or not and whatever it is a need.

So at the same time carb svc..since already taken out for ur top svc.Tune up properly and be back on road.

Oops Thomas,

my post mean nothing as just to joke! By the way if you want to do 'Top Overhaul' only, I think you can save it loh! 4-stroke big bikes 'Top' is nothing to service but most pples goes for 'Block Overhaul' & that's the 'correct medicine' to your bike problem! 'Top Overhaul' normally is becos of shin, tensioner, bluff, spring & top gasket leak (W&T),nothing much. But 'Block Overhaul' will be different & you can feel the power.

Top overhaul consist on how bad the condition is,mostly for a bad engine.

1.Timing chain

2." " tensioner

3.Valve spring(weak springs dont close the valve tightly)

4.Valve guide(Worn out guide causes freeplay and also allows oil to be sucked into the combustion chamber)

5.Valve face(make sure no cracks)

6.valve stem seal(to prevent oil from getting sucked into the combustion chamber)

7. Cylinder head(No warpage so that the cylinder head can seal better onto the block)

8. Camshaft - bearing clearance

I think thats all for the top..

Not all this things must be change, the technician have a method of checking these stuff.Normally what i have learn only timing belt must be change at 100 000km but ours is using chain.Therefor can last twice longer.Valve clearance is a must.

Other than porting the block for increase horsepower, milling the cylider head face will just by a per 0.005mm will make the engine have a higher compression ratio thus move hp. But thats a very troublesome way,you will need to make sure that there's enough clearance when the valve opens and does not hit the face of the piston....

pai sae to dig up an old thread. Couldn't find ani other related thread about valve clearance le.

I would lk 2 noe which shop is recommendated for doing valve clearance & hw much it cost? Hw long does the whole process takes?

I consider valve clearance as quite a major servicing therefore would realli survey well b4 senting to a particular shop to get it done.

Have ani1 sent their bike to doctor ali beside yeow motor at AMK industrial park to do valve clearance? Gd or not?
