hi peeps! currently still in process of 2b. however want to decide asap so that i can do the necessary preparations to get the bike right after passing. (plan budget get gear etc.)

both bikes have good FC which is important for me cause going NS nxt yr must be economical. engine bomb proof + low maintainence. i'm 1.83m medium built so a bigger bike would be ideal for me. just wanna ask yall out there about the problems faced when riding also the pros and cons for each bike. kinda new here so would very much appreciate expertise from the experienced. Cheers and ride safe:D

hi bro, both xr125 and vara 125 has good FC.Xr smaller fuel tank means frequent topping up while vara larger tank, less frequent topping upespecially useful when you going for tour.

The V twin engine in vara means less vibration which will result in smoother ride for distance travelling but lesser torque(less pick up)...while the xr good pick-up but more vibration bcoz of the single line engine

But the vara is huge for a 125cc and have a great big size bike feeling.

Xr is light which is good for dirt track to pump your adrenaline rush.

Apart from the Vara, you may also wish to chk out the Derbi Terra or Terra Adventure. Both are also rather large for a 2B bike and for me, they look great!

There's an ongoing thread on the Derbis in this 'Scramblers' section. Chk this out : http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=214832

I presently have the XR125L and it's great for off road riding and trailing. Hardy and good FC. Bought it 2nd hand on a whim. But have decided to change to the Derbi Terra Adventure. Will share more on the latter after I collect it next month! Did consider the Vara originally but preferred the look of the Derbi - guess it's a personal thing - beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder! :p

Also, you may wish to note that it wld probably be easier to get a 2nd hand XR (no more new ones I was told) or Vara (pretty ex... slightly more so than the Derbi I think). Was not able to find any 2nd hand Derbis... :(

There's also the DR200 that I've not tried riding but was told is pretty good a 2B scrambler. You may want to chk that out too!

Hope this helps.
