hm... i love arai helmet... you really get what you pay for

 

comfort is there, build quality is there, no fogging issues, no need to treat visor with rain X, and even non-riders compliment you on your beautiful helmet

I don't like the fact that it is a target for theft and cannot be left hanging on the bike unlike a $100 knockoff...

no fogging issues - under what condition may i ask, normal weather or with even with rain?

also treating RainX on visor, the droplets will spread away like what RainX can do? i dont suppose you did but i will just ask anyway, btw have u tried applying RainX on the visor?

I believe the RR5 (Corsair V) retails at Chiap Lee around S$950. I tried the Haga replica on the other day but just didn't fit me as well as a Shoei X11.

 

You can get cheaper Arais. The RR5 is the flagship model, so is the expensive one. There are 'lower' specced ones like the Profile (~S$720) and the Vector (S$630).

 

All prices above are the listed prices, from memory. I hear you can get a better deal if you're a serious cash buyer.

wads really good aint cheap... wads really cheap aint really as good... got arai thread btw... i own a AGV t2 and a Arai... just got crash... and its really worth it... cos i dun feel a single impact on my head... so ride safe pal ... usually is rather standard... 219, and the arai shop called chiap lee can get

I believe the price u are stating are for one design models. Can be even cheaper if u just get the plain/solid colours rr5 is 850 and profile is 630. Just got both from chiap lee awhile back. Still waiting for the profile one to ship over from japan..

Hi guys, anyone knows whats the current price of Ram III? Been using Shoei X9 for the past 4 years and the lining is giving way. Thinking of changing to open face helmet, but the Shoei range looks really ugly.

ya man, anyway i jus got it from chiap lee. Nice color isnt it? i love it so much. This is going to be my first ARAI, lets see how it goes compared to AGV TiTech which i used to wear. Will feedback the comparison after a mth of using.

agv ear not as comfy as arai. arai has the most comfy ears but some like it secure like agv.. if u wear earrings or studs... it sucks

however, arai air vents are not as hi tech as agv and not lasting due to the traditional pasting on method.

arai looks round while agv looks sharp...

if u noticed, some arai the linear can see the styrofoam which means the foam is more vulnerable to sweat and wear and tear

arai visor are longer lasting.. not cos of their technology but rubber lining design cos agv is so tight that the rubber rubs the visor until peels a little.

agv uses kevlar so its lighter than arai too.

arai is used by 80% f1 drivers and alot of moto GP

however, AGV is rossi... one person who is so good vs many pros...

at the end of the day it is down to wad u prefer:)

just to share some tips on how i keep my Arai odor free. whenever i am home, i always put a dehumidifier(like thirsty hippo) inside my helmet to absorb the day's worth of sweat trap in the lining and i got the kiwi brand dehumidifier which has a perfume smell plus cheaper than thirsty hippo. so every morning when i wear my helmet, it always feel very fresh and importantly DRY. say goodbye to smelly helmets!

the cheapest arai ff helmet was vector followed by profile at Chiap Lee. profile was at $630 special offer. vector was at hmm.. about to $600 if i'm not wrong :cry:
