2nd hand or 1st?

 

cheaper ones u can try swee heng building (opp geylang police station) got one "N tyres" shop, alot of ulu brand rims, can bargain.

 

leong seng those put outside one is 2nd hand rims, condition mostly should be ok or with some minor parking scratches. there're not the type who sell crack rims.

 

likewise if still cannot fit ur budget, can pay a visit to the infamous poh h3ng at amk... long waiting, reverse thumbs services, price now so-so not like last time that type of earn u $10 also will do that kind of business.

 

direct owner resale type, just go to subaru forum or rexfactor forum and see their buy/sell folder.

 

btw new subaru ts comes with wat tires now? potenza? the old ones are real solid tires where it comes with RE070... Classic~~

 

 

looking for new rims... think i will go for those taiwan brands in leong seng... much cheaper...

rexfactor one is mostly all hidden, u can see the sales thread there, mostly ppl will post both side. Or can see mcf too as long same pcd 5X114.3, offset can clear oem rex brakes can liao... unless u too greedy wanna chg to the gold brembos or ap 6 pot then that's another case.

Anyway, care to teach me a thing or two about offsets? I have been reading about it everywhere but don't understand. For example, what does 17 x 8J +40 means? What is a good or normal setting? Bike stuff I can still understand, come to car I totally blur...

 

Also, any recommendation for strut bars? Any good one or is it all the same.. just a piece of metal? Thanx for teaching!

normal subaru onli not even TC dun require so fierce Sti Brake lah.. even the normal 4p2p Rex's brake are like over killing in a way imo unless for bling & track purposes otherwise i dun see the purpose n its weighs heavier than stock/2p1p.

no worries man... rex tiny brakes wun overkill de, in fact they might save u from our local street culture sometimes.. in fact my brakes save me save me 2 times from our extreme street culture.

 

Brakes will only "overkill" when u fit a GTR brembo set into a picanto... the rotors will become his rims

17 x 8J = 17" diameter with 8" wide rims... +40 = offset..

 

offset just to clear ur brakes calipers (rims to calipers space) and will determine whether u need spacers..

 

ts wun have much issue on that

 

For strut bar i dun think u will really need any of those.... sorry to say but the car is too slow for it, adding it will be just adding weight. Even if u r hardcore driver, i still dun see how the bar can deflect before ur stock suspension system says goodbye to you.

haha if warranty is ur concern then leave it stock till the day u scrap the car becos Harry Potter are known to void any damn thing tht they can find on ur ride if u happen to change anything. Worse still maybe by changin pedals, seat or gear knob might even void.

yeah sure i do notice the bite of ur brembo brakes haha.. i also dare not press tht hard (scare it will lock up.. )

ehhh... dun waste $$ on exhaust tip bro.. get a real thing ba.. (be there done tht.. its like stock S4 exhaust go paste Yoshi/Micron etc.. Sticker)

eh... I wanted to do a 17" but was advice that 16" is good enough. 17" apparently will result in higher fuel consumption. Still havent decide yet.

 

Also will change exhaust. Last I heard was that Supersprint is legal... wait till I wanna change then find out.. haha..

 

CF bonnet thought about it before, but will it affect the crash zone of the car? as in, cannot take the impact it was suppose to take with the original bonnet?

17inch rim will look better wif fender flush look when car is lowered. FC wise should be gettin 10-12km/l depending on ur right foot.

 

well my setup also haven't reach the 15K mark n it still sounds gd to me n other of my frds.. jus tht it requires more fine tune on my staging etc.. well whts most important is noe ur Budget for ICE and wht kind of setup u intend to do then u focus into the kind of speakers, amp, headunit n woofer tht fits ur budget.. at times certain used audio items fr the net can help save u some $$ so end of day u still get ur ICE n ur setup might jus cost less than $5K or below. If ur prirated source of music are clear not to the extend blurrish kind, it will still sound gd (not best as in compare to actual orginal CD).
