hi all,

I got this problem, my rear tyre does not go in line with my rear mudguard. Is it the swing arm needs to align or the front foot rest? Anyone here encounter the same problem. :cheeky:

put it like this

i used HOnda - 3 bikes cubs

honda timing chain last for 65,000km with proper oil maintenance and nice bike riding

while the valve tappet adjustment needed after chanign the timing chain

but our international silly sparky , timing chain and valve adjustment for OHC so fast noisy

when u go fast above 90km/h u hear from combustion chamber the knocking sound so loud. the tak tak tak tak tak

ckc,

u may input some ...

Wildboar,

regardign the rear wheel alignment, you can adjust the alignment by turning the adjuster nut using a 12mm wrench (it has a 10mm lock nut) located at the end of the swing arm. loosen the rear wheel first to make the adjustment easier. take note of the alignment indicator and the chain slack allowance.

sometimes the rear wheel is not accurately aligned with the mud guard. what's important is that the wheel is aligned so that the rear sprocket aligns with the chain and the brake shoe is aligned with the hub (or you get weak, soft and squeaky brakes)

and make sure the wheel bearing is in good condition and the damper is tight. HTH

the valve clearance is best checked by a qualified yamaha technician. they usually check the clearance everytime you bring the bike for tune-up. inaccurate valve clearance will produce less power and poor fuel efficiency.

they also check the tightness of the timing chain. if the timing chain is loose, the chain may jump off the gear and damage the engine but not to worry, yamaha bikes are of good quality but it is best to have a tune-up every 2000 kms. HTH.
