You can go for a Teka remap.

Loois or BikeLab.

Or can ask johntan. He has a Teka device.

Also, make sure your TBs are synched, filter cleaned and TPS calibrated.

Guys... clearing some TLR leftovers... make any reasonble offer please

1. Workshop Manual... photocopied from original borrowed from Guan Hoe...cost me $17, any offer, self collect please... (er... not owner's manual), detailed on how to take and put back everything on your TLR....damn... I miss my TLR

2. Single Seater - looking at $80... increase your trunk capacity and no need excuses NOT to pillion anyone ;-D

check for airleaks at TB interface or any vac lines etc.. plugs?

Frankly, not much diff between the SP1 and TLR, except that the SP1 is more of a track machine... almost as harsh and brutal as the 916.

With 0.0something seconds diff from 0-100... not much to say... depends on the rider's skill to launch the bikes.

But the SP1 & 2 had a bad reputation for being thirsty bikes.... fuel tank is 18L vs 17L for the TLR... range as per "BIKE" mag Apr. 2000, 114miles vs 135miles for the TLR

HI John,

thanks for the info, looks like i gotta go donw to Ah Lai at Ubi to check it out...

But im seriously thinking of changing to the SP1/2.

What do u guys think?

But then again maybe i shld check out Shoei's bike to motivate myself...Hehe

And probably aftermarket exhausts to smoothen my ears....

hehehe

thritythree, SP1/2 is a pretty good track bike. But if you're gonna use it as a transport also, I'd say better get reinforced foam for your pants.

For a production bike, its very uncomfortable.

A track-designed bike like the TLR is performance-oriented yet comfortable. Even my pillion had no problems adapting to the pillion seat. She was surprised at the wide seat and comfort.

SP1/2 very track focused... and I just met/spoke to a current owner... unless you intend to do track time... better think again... gas guzzzler....only so ever slightly better than a car.

I liked the SP1/2 too... but cannot imagine paying fuels bills like a car's.

As for Shoei's bike... he's taken car of the TLR's achiles heel... the handling department... just take care of the rear d(u)amper and you are set to go.

John looks like you miss your twin man !!! SP1 nothing so diff from the TLR except perhaps in the handling department, but power wise about there and price oolala some difference , SP 1 year 2001 selling for 10k ?????How much for TLR ?? value for money, side radiators of SP1 I heard also give some extra heat good since we are in winter season now but unfortunately in Singapore , you can put a piece of bread there & toast it for breakfast on the way to work !!!

TLR owners trend now for naked bikes , bin the fairing , get bug-eye headlight , raise the handles give the Tuono a beating !!!

you could wat...

at 5K for an FS plate, its cheaper than an FR-plate S4 Vtec.

You can own both bikes and the maintenance will still be cheaper than a 996.

no wonder some people don't want kids... can afford a Ferrari for the price of raising a kid well ;-p but the stupid Ferrari won't be able to give me the satisfaction of kids... man... I sound like some Govt person trying to advocate having kids!! hahaha

mostly DIY.

Suzuki are pretty easy to DIY, especially if you have a manual handy.

For EO, I just go to Planet Motors in Ubi. Fuchs Silkolene semi-synth at $9 per bottle. Change every 2 months.

Plugs, air-filter cleaning and most servicings are DIY for me. Cheaper and gains a lot of satisfaction...

Coz mine is semi-synth.

Also, V-twins are known to chomp down oil viscosity faster than you can say "Aaron Slight!!!"

Alternative is expensive $20+ per bottle of fully-synth top of the line 4T which you can change every 4 months. But becoz of the above reason, it is said V-twins chomp right thru em too.

So I prefer to use a cheaper option but change more regularly. Saves $$$ in the long run and have a much cleaner engine....

Guys,

Anyone need to change brake pads, go down to Planet NOW.

WP brake pads (front) for $18 a pair.

EBC front pads for $20 a pair.

Too bad I couldn't get from them as my pads were totally thinned out. No time to head over to Planet today.
