fuel consumption varies.it is definately higher than the inlines.

however if one choses the Vs twins, fuel should not be the problem

for TLR i have ridden it for abt 1 year and i find no problem with it.if there is one,it would be the heat problem when it gets struck in a traffic jam.a mauel fan swtich will resolve it.

Guys,

I discovered the solutions to my fuel problems.

A remap...

heheheheh

Last Sat, went to Bikelab and spilled out $50 for a Teka remap.

Thammo showed the amt of carbon coming out of my pipes, not to mention earlier my front spark plug died on me.

Anywayz, changed both and it feels better.

Yesterday was D-Day and it worked. Normally I would hit actual reserve (the permanent fuel light) at ard 180-190km. Yesterday, it only started blinking at 180+. If thing go rite, I can hit 200+ at actual reserve. Today I wanna see how many litres of petrol my bike consumed. I'm thinking of riding exactly 220 km then top up full tank and see how many litres I've filled up.

Previous calculation indicate my bike was hogging at 12-13km / litre.

Now, it should be a lot better. Let's see how....

One more thing. Shoei, after remap, does your present mileage show up immediately or after some time?

the mapping did help me to increase my fuel consumption immediately

but its still high due to my exhast.

the real thing that help me in my fuel is the fuel cleaner

try checking TLPlanet on this or asking them.

They're very helpful, especially Steve the owner.

There's one more thing. Synching the TBs, which I understand are the throttle bodies. I gotta read more on this. But TBs go out of sync after some usage and mileage. It does result is significant fuel consumption.

Guys, new thing I discovered. Anyone had this problem:

Loud squeaking noises from the rear shock? These 2 days, I've been plagued by them. Worse is when I pillion my fiance along. Then it becomes from squeaking to that of an old asthmatic grandpa wheezing and groaning away.

Anywayz, read some advice from TLPlanet and tried using WD40 directed all over the joints, the piston rod (inside the red spring) and throughout the rotary damper.

I was gonna try and strip the whole shock out and regrease everything. But

1. I dun have any white lithium grease handy

2. I dun have the proper tools

Those damn screws are damn tight. Anywayz, will update you guys on this....

instead of greasing them part by part, go to a hard ware shop and get a white litium grease SPRAY. it does do magics as it can lubricate all the joints of the shock.thats wad i always do wheneva i wash my bike

I've been using Iridium. Just downgraded to Denso "hotter" plugs coz kena fouled plugs due to running to rich.

The difference is there. Can feel it. But it depends on what you want.

I wanted iridiums too. Too bad. Lack of cash last week. :p

TBs or throttle body sync is to sync the 2 throttle bodies, just like u tune a carb.It regulates the amount of air into the engine. Thru time(usage n mileage), the sync of the TB will "run", thus resulting in irregular idling rpm.
