altis fc not very good also lei... avg ard 11km/L... also its outside the 50k range...

maybe can consider lancer.. how is the usage like? will u be using it very often or wat? cos the fc of the car will part a big part of ur pocket for the monthly maintenance of the car..

korean cars have came a long way... no longer lousy FC... they now specialise in safety and FC... trust me... many ppl who buy a hyundai... will continue to buy one... becos it is that good...

moreover most jap brands are ASSEMBLED in THAILAND... that explains why altis is so cheap... materials inferior...

I certainly do not recommend Nissan.. they really guzzle petrol like nothing..

And Hyundai and other korean brands have indeed come a long way in their development.. just take a look at the Hyundai Avante :thumb:

Cars within your budget are

Chevrolet Aveo

Hyundai Verna

Kia Cerato

Kia Rio

Mitsubitshi Lancer

Proton Wira

Toyota Vios

Nissan Sunny

My personal preference would be Vios although the cabin space is pretty small... but it has a good fuel consumption and is one of the most powerful 1.5L around.

Kia Cerato 1.6l :thumb:

now comes with new CVVT engine

very huge fuel tank

easily 28~30l from 3/4 tank to Full tank. can go up to 320km

good for filling up @ JB.

:cheeky:

FC around 10.5km/l of 100% city driving.

can get about 11~12km/l if mixture driving of highway and city.

abit heavy thou but very stable when going @ high speed @ NSHW

vios cabin capacity smaller compared to altis and sunny. But yes it has to be one of the better fuel consumption and adequately powered for a family car under 50k budget.

i drive a vios.. heehee

i saw classifieds over the weekend and saw new toyota 1.5litre sedan car forgot call what name already. Supposedly to carry on the corolla line.

yes korean cars like kia and hyundai had been making tremendous improvements. Pretty value for money nowadays.

thanks bros for the replies..I have set my sight on 3 models based on several factor such as price,fc,reliability, resale value n looks..

1. Toyota Vios 1.5E(M)

2. Kia Rio 1.6(M)

3. Chevrolet Aveo 1.4(M)

altho i like the sporty lancer n spacious sunny, i dunt tink i can cope with the fc..the rest jus cant meet my eyes..

Which one will u choose if u in my shoes?Kinda lack of comment on the Rio and Aveo here..

I personally own a Kia Rio 1.4(M). Having owned 7 other cars before (6 Jap, 1 Conti), I would say I am thoroughly impressed and happy with my Rio. Totally no regrets. Consumption is 14km/l and I mostly do city driving with 4 other passengers.

Before I bought the Rio, many had adviced me to go for the Vios and I was quite convinced about it till I took the test drive between both cars and decided on the Korean.

Agreed. You have to test drive the cars in your list to make your own decision. One man's meat is one man's poison afterall.

Go to the Ubi showroom. Walking distance between all 3 of your shortlisted cars.

PM me if you need contacts for good salespeople to recommend for Toyota or Kia.
