Friends, I suspect my ST got into a minor accident or at least a moving drop before, because when I took out the top fairing to do valve clearance, when putting everything back, I realized the steel bracket that the right mirror screws into does not align properly with the holes on the fairing.

I'm trying to look for a shop that can help me bend back the steel bracket so it aligns with the top fairing. Does anyone know of a shop that can do this in a proper way (without damaging the bracket)?

Thanks.

one shop is goldhill spray painting located at ubi, beside planet motors area. i went over to ask for a quote and he said about $500 but he doesnt keep e bike there or do any workmanship on removing e parts. u bring e parts over, they paint.

another is ah huat from yeow motors located at amk area. he told me about $500 also, but workmanship will have extra charge, which is about $150 to strip n assemble back, i think. but he allows u to leave e bike at his shop.

another one is a private painter called henry. i not too sure where he does his work n stuff but i seen his work on my fren's bike. to me, its absolutely excellent! not sure his style of getting e parts n stuff but u can call him. he also quoted $500 plus.

goldhill (ang lay beng): 96602616

yeow motors (ah huat): 81006969

private painter (henry): 83288777

Thank you for sharing.

Thanks! Goldhill is it the one right at the corner, beside's Planet? They always spraying expensive continental cars, even saw a Bentley and Maserati there once. Their skill must be very good!

My price of $700 for my last fairing sports bike was from Yeow also. I'm surprised he only charge $500 for ST, since I think ST got more to spray.

no, goldhill is further down from planet. same row but walk down. they r just beside e shop which does alot of vespas.

as for ah huat, in the end, i think it will stil come up close to $700 with e workmanship n stuff.

Guys,

We (me and my wife) are going to ride to Chiangmai come this 2 Dec 2011 and be back by 15 Dec (tentative). We are gong solo at the moment. If anyone wants to join, please drop me a note. Plus we do need help on planning this trip. We have gathered quite a fair bit from those experience riders. I know simon did this trip before, so bro can help?

fr an old buddy who still riding the blue ST hahaha

Dont bother stripping the fairings, a hectic time consuming job, rather pay for labour. Got a friend alan 9295 2745, he sprays st11 with germany y2k paint. Workmanship guaranteed satisfaction. Juz tell him funkychicken/fazlee recommend u. He use to ride st11 now on st13.

Honda ST11 all model workshop manual with wiring harness circuit and Haynes manual both for $100. Best buy for those DIY and who wants to save $$.

Cnc at bt btk/woodlands.

Hi ST peeps,

Random...Just to share my riding experience on 1999 maroon ST1100...

Been riding since May this year... Got it from Asphoon serangoon @ 8.7k machine price...

Minor problem encountered such as coolant overflow and handlebar wobble while riding.... Radiator cap was replaced to solve the coolant prob and switch installed to activate fan manually...

FC rate maintain between 13.5 to 14.2 per liter.... Quite low :( ...

After 3 months, went riding on sunny day and found someone mess ard with my choke... Engine overheat and coolant in the reservoir boils like crazy... :faint:

Sent to Soon Hin to replace coolant @ 48 bucks

Soon after that, handlebar starts to wobble more vigorously...

First thought could be wheel or cone bearings.... Sent to planet motor... Boss straight away says its the tyre problem, uneven... As he's more experience, i take it and change the tyre BT045 front... Problem solved... Bike more steady especially when cornering... Also do the clutch as biting point very close to handlebar grip, maybe not even clutch in fully.... Found no hyd fluid... Both done at the cost of $140.... :p

Can anybody share when Touring at higher speed 160 - 200 km/h, what rpm....

Tried to go 140km/h, rpm slightly above 4ooo rpm and feel like dragging the engine...

Havent tried beyond that, scared kena escort.. Huhu

Hi,

To check around, I mananged to pump 26.8L into tank yet the reserve lights have never once lit up before that. Is this normal?? (FYI at the startup checks, the reserve lights light up => not a bulb problem)

Also once the reserve lights up, how many liters approximately would there be?

Apprecieate any replies. Thanks!

These are my findings subject to conditions and rider. I am a small rider at 1.6m and 58kg only. I find riding single the bike feels light at 160km/h. With a pillion, super stable. At 160-200km/h. Full load with pillion and top box, 160km/h still ok. At 200km/h bikes vibrates (not terribly), but straight road, with full load and top box and pillion. Less draggy without top box. Without top box and side boxes, speed is a dream and smooth with pillion la. Without pillion, feels light and scary. All this tested on north-south highway and thailand roads. Dno why i write this, jus feel like it hahahaha
