Hi bros and brodettes,

I'm having some problems with my practical 3.Biggest one of all seems to be my e-braking.

1)Stepping down to hard on back brake

2)Not stopping at line

This is my second time doing prac 3 and on friday , it shall be my third.

However,i don't mind doing it many times because these skills, when i finally mastered them will be life saving.

The problem is i get very nervous during e-brake session.Out of instinct i tend to hit the back brake which causes my bike to skid a little.

Any tips or advice about e-brake?

Although its emergency brake, Try to feel relaxed.

When u're good at it, you will feel that its quite easy to do it.

Take us instructors for an example, we do it so much, to demonstrate to students, its like normal stopping for us.

Rear wheel locks up easily. So practice pressing it gently. Its because u have to react fast which makes u press it hard. Quick Response, & Apply Gently.

Rely more on ur front brakes(still applying it gentyl also). It helps the bike to slow down faster becuz its more effective in slowing the bike down compared to the rear brakes.

Most riders i know whom i ride with on the race tracks hardly or never uses the rear brakes even at speeds above 220km/h. Including me. (Applies to the race tracks only for our own personal reasons)

P.S Its still better to use both brakes :thumb:

use gradual increase of brakes? gentle at first and increasing the pressure til it stops... i remember when doing the ebrake lesson at ssdc the instructors say dun think about stopping b4 the line, think of stopping asap. For me when doing ebrake my front brake goes gentle, harder and harder while rear brakes goes gentle, abit harder, maintain, like that no problem for me...

ya must relax, when instructor is the kind of more fierce or stern looking i find it more hard to ebrake nicely... :cheeky: last time take saf license the ebrake when pass the cone still must wait for whistle blow then can start braking... double the pressure!:faint:
