imo la....

suspension too soft not good for acceleration leh as in there will be a lag. Too soft very hard to take sharp and hard corners. Dampers do prevent tank slap at high speed for me ah.

But i seldom travel at high speed so i nv install damper wor.....

Based on experienced on track :D

correct.. too hard, you will thrown around on the bike after every bumps. suspension doing minimal work..

too soft, you risk bottom-ing out as the travel already used up to take in the 'weight' of the acceleration/braking.. overworked suspension..

tank slap normally happens at high speed. And when tank slap kicks it, you better pray hard and react fast :D

but steering damper doesnt help at low - mid speed cornering wor for me :D

To me is unwanted handling

usually the case of too much rider input, too much weight/pressure to induce counter-steering..

got see motogp riders getting thrown off the bikes, but the bike remains upright and rolls away for a distance in a straight line?

for most steering dampers, it doesn't helps...

but hyperpro RSC do counter this...

so we can come to a conclusion that tank slapping consider part of unwanted handling right?

lol... i think only u r the one who is putting it this way...

i mentioned abt hyperpro rsc becus it's active valving damper...

as per my knowledge, it's the only active valving damper in the market now...

anyway, i'm not using that, i'm using gpr ones...

in my recent long distance ride on highway at about 110km/h in China, the road is not very flat, alot of uneven. with the steering damper set to almost the max, i could ride with one hand. without it, i would need two hands. on normal riding to the town, i do not think the damper is useful.

i have not tried yet, but i am planning to bring the bike to pasir gudang for a few hard laps in late Sep during weekdays. I am sure the steering damper will prove itself. Anyone care to join for a casual spin? i know two other Fazers might come.

its best to remove those accessories before playing in track in case of accidents. saves troubles, saves money. and the bike will be lighter and more fun. dates to be advised but it will be late Sept.

Preparing lah.. still got side rack and panniers to go leh.. and planning to buy mark's(your friend) handle bar by end sept leh..

anyway i'm particularly unhappy today thanks to our wonderful BP..

I went for bike inspection earlier on the day cause my road tax is expiring coming Sept 6.

Obviously everyone will renew their road tax at the centre after having their bike inspected.. me included..

When i reached the counter.. the staff told me that my road tax cannot be renewed.. i was stunned. First time in my life, i cannot renew road tax having done my inspection.

I asked why, she told me that my insurance need to be renewed.. i told her my insurance got 6 months more to go how come need to renew.. that was when i realised BP did not SYNCHRONIZE my road tax and insurance and they didnt even bother informing me!

So i called BP, then the staff said this.. "louis ah.. ur bike plate no. XXXX, yah we know come down to our place to renew"

I was super duper stunned X 2. They knew it.. they never informed..

I went down, they told me that i've to "extend" my insurance by a month.. and they took advantage of the situation and charge me an exorbitant fee of $110 for 1 month without ROAD TAX!

My insurance was 700 2nd party for a year.. yet they are charging me 110 for 1 month.. i asked them why didnt they pro-rate.. their replied was "yah there's no pro-rate for extention"

I was super pissed because right from the start, when they sold me this bike.. they should have done my insurance in a way that synchronise with my road tax.. or should have given me an option..

I really didnt have any other option but to fall right into their trap and pay up that $110.

I'm really damn pissed off with their service.. yet i couldnt show it because i still have 2.5 years of loan to pay off..

chill already.. just wanted to vent my frustration.. afterall i already paid .. so no point getting all upset ..

a lesson learnt.. i will boycott bp after i pay off my bike.
