not interested in italian (READ: no budget) bikes. heh. where's your first destination? i only intend to ask about the sw-motech stuff.. and since they just restocked their shop, i dont think they bring what i am interested in or ordering again soon..

sure..

anyway, those who installed gear indicators, where do you guys tap the ignition power for the gear indicator? mine was tapped from the rear brake, but the wiring is quite messy.. i need help in tapping from somewhere else pls.

and also, is it advisable to add a fuse to my cig socket charger? now its connected to ignition -- switch -- socket.

can i put the fuse after the ignition, tap the gear indicator power from there, then continues to my switch (for cig socket) then to the cig socket?

my previous gear indicator on my fz6 is tapping from the wire harness loom underneath the tank and everything was there...

if some of the wires goes to the rear brake, isn't it going to be super messy?

btw, wad gear indicator u got there? if u need help, we can do that together provide u go find all the necessary installation instructions ok? :)

regard to adding fuse to cig socket, u had to know wad is your application like because each different application uses different amp...

unless u r firm that u will be using 1 application only for ur cig socket, then u put the correct fuse in...

for me, i'm using my cig socket for my air compressor only...

i used a wire connector for this...

meaning, the socket head is kept offline from my wires & it's kept together with my air compressor box...

when i need to use it, all i need to do is to plug in the socket head and plug in my air compressor and it will work...

i do not use any fuse for this...

regarding to your last question, theoretically it's feasible, but in this case, u will be using ur fuse for two applications liao right?

if one fails, it means the other will also fails right?

if one goes overloaded or something like that, the tendency that it will affect the other in terms of electronically will be there...

hmmm... :)

Acumen Gear indicator cum volt meter - connect via ignition cable. Can't think of anywhere else as voltmeter needs the most accurate place to link wire from...

Same to cig socket... only charging GPS while on the move...

i need to go dig for my installation instructions.. its GI pro. yeah wiring is a little messy at the moment.

i will be mainly using the cig socket for charging of hp/gps..

yes i thought of making use of that fuse for 2 things, the cig socket and the gear indicator. but no big issue if that's not feasible, (i am very lousy in physics.) perhaps just add a fuse for the cig socket and find another place to tap the ignition power for my gear indicator.

for voltmeter, i tap it at my ignition fuse with the other two wires to the positive & negative of the battery, directly... :)

i tot GIpro supposed to be the best in terms of wire management?

looks like you got a lemon hands to do that for ya?

bro, imo, i would suggest u getting two different fuses for your gear indicator & your ciggy socket becus the amp drawn will be different...

gear indicator uses v v low amp while ciggy socket if we talk about other things, it may be of a higher amp compared...

maybe if sat got meet up, let's discuss & explore ok? :)

the wiring is only messy cos of the tapping of ignition power, the rest are good.. 2 of us were trying to tap the power, the other guy knows there's somewhere to tap below the tank, but we have limited time and tools to access that.

okok sure..

hard to find a whole day for me to do stuff. furthermore, do at hdb void deck or car park, no1 to look after things when i need to eat or go toilet or forgot to bring tools. and if cannot finish within a day, that's it. hongkan liao.. i almost had that happening, bad experience i dun wish to encounter again.

i did something for the whole day, risk my stuff getting stolen in the void deck while i went upstairs to take tools, toilet break and meal breaks. ended up, i couldnt fix it, got to fit back my stock stuff and went home past midnight when i had to work the next morning.

dragonforce if u need sample, let me know. I have Gipro installed as well. yes its tapping to the wire under my tank, alot much neater compared to acumen. alternatively i think in Fz-forum there, someone actually took photos of where to tap the ignition from.

ohhhh okok.. maybe i go search for the pics.. esp if they took pics step by step.. cos i saw the wire below the tank but i could not reach to it. thanks!

u can tilt ur tank up to 90° one... then u can have almost 100% access to the wires underneath the tank already... if u wan total access, take out the whole tank... :D
