P-Platers Sharing Session - 1st Intake

 

I've been organising a similar sessions for "First Time Off road/ Trail Riders" under the Scrambler Thread & now, since I've seen too many accidents & deaths which had got riders who had just passed & still on P-Plates, I've decided to organise a meetup or discussion cum Safety Road Riding with Safety Marshalls. I have a friend in the Traffic Police Management department sharing a brief statistics on the number of death cases of new riders. Half of of the motorcyclist death cases were P-Platers.

 

As this is my first attempt & I do not know how the turn out is going to be like. I'll try to start off with a few participants first.

 

Some of the Singapore Bikes Forum Moderators May Know me too & had been observing my events & sharing safe riding matters.

 

I hope, this will help to reduce the number of fatalities of new riders on the road.

I'm doing this out of my own time & effort, there's no fees involved.

 

Date: 13th March, Saturday

 

Time: 6.00PM - 9.00PM

 

Minimum 5 new riders to kick off the session.

 

(Strictly for new/first-time/ within 3 months just passed road riders only)

 

Registration via SMS @ 96690472 with the following format:

 

Type: P-Platers Sharing Session[sPACE]FULL NAME[sPACE]BIKE MODEL[sPACE]BIKE PLATE NUMBER[sPACE]DATE OBTAIN LICENCE[sPACE]LOCATION.

 

Gears Required(Minimum Requirements):

01) Approved Helmet w PSB Sticker

02) Gloves

03) Covered Shoes

04) Long sleeve shirt (Bright Coloured)

05) Long pants (Jeans)

 

Itenary:

- Ice Breaking

- Sharing of first time road riding experience

- Accident prone areas

- Accident Causes

- Gears needed

- Maintenance Of Motorcycle Matters

- Incase of emergency

- What to do when accident occur

- Day Riding

- Night Riding

- Safety Riding Techniques

haha, learning never stops does it? a rider strives to improve in any way possible, i still newbie compared to those having class 2A or class 2 licence la...

 

nevertheless, i strive to improve technically and safety-wise.

 

it is always sad to hear a friend passing away due to an accident.

 

kudos to you and your effort in trying to minimize the statistics. :thumb:

 

but if something can be done to deter errant and reckless drivers who has the mentality of 'i own the road'. it will be even more effective.

I think P plate prefers sitting around on the butt-unfriendly metal guards at Yishun Dam and blowing their tong pipes, esp young ones.

Anyone can ride a bike. Being a biker, is a state of mind.

Wah! Can i join? even thought i pass on dec09, but i've only ride for less then 5mths.

I would like to know more on safety aspects.
