Do u mean the wind deflector on the top ? That's more for the side wind blast . U can still feel warm air coming out in between the left fairing and the tank . But it's not that hot that can cook ur leg.

After riding an R6 with fully tuned engine n termigoni FS I no longer know what's call hot. Haha

Nope.not the original wind deflector for handle grip but rather a DiY attend to divert the hot air else where away from the rider.

Let me get the bike & feel it.

Maybe some aircon pipe heat shield can do the job or even a extra acrylic cover at the edge of the left fairing black hole fins?

For info , the fan cuts in at 105 deg , in S'pore it's easily to hit the temperature especially at traffic standstill , normal riding temp @ 77 deg. Wish can do something .... For eg ; better coolant , additional manual fan or even changing the thermostat .

Posted

try better coolant first.. we dun need glycol for our coolant..

then try manual fan.. or change the plastic fan blade to metal type ones..

I would not suggest changing thermostat as it will only on fan at higher temp..

which to me, is dangerous to the bike's engine..

if you wanna change coolant, let me know.. I dun mind helping out..

it's fairly easy, i DIY alot..

Looks cool. any figure for this item already ? maybe can share shipping ?

acrylic wun melt meh??

thin alu foils will do the trick i supposed.. just like what ramen71 did for the left signal light..

The acrylic is taken from those wind deflector mount on ST/GL/FJR which when in motion will either draw air into/out from the side fairing.

As for S10,if it slow speed ride and the fan is on.does it blow in or blow out? Base on logic it should be suck out an hence the front fairing has ram air lookalike funnel beside the headlight.

Therefore ,if the fan is suck out & there is a acrylic slope cover which deflect the hot air out & away from the rider legs then it may help.

Choice of material is personnal preference.I prefer acrylic is cos if it clear then it looks nicer but Alu foil can do the work too.

If the hot air is from the gap between the fairing and tank then maybe heat-resist armor aircon shield can be use.just cut & trim then slot in the gap to prevent hot air from reaching the rider leg.

I believe if the heat is an issue then maybe we could all

Combine our knowledge and come up with a bearable solution to the issue & make our S10 better .

Guys,

The heat coming out from Tenere still much tolerable as compare to other bike,no doubt must always with long pants..

Probably due to big bore the engine easily get hot,i don't think so the fan have any issue to bring down the temp as it's huge and workable.

maybe need change coolant to more reliable brand such redline, engine ice

Quoted from another forum:

I screwed up on my calculation! That's what I get for watching the Super Bowl and at the same time, doing math. I didn't double the tire aspect ratio dimension and add it to the wheel diameter. I just added it once which resulted in a smaller tire circumference, and a lower speed number.

The true speed at 3900 rpm is 77.577 mph!

There are several on-line calculators that you can use, but here's the math nerd version:

You need to know the circumference of the drive tire in ft., the drive ratio through the driveline, and the engine RPM's (which we are setting at 3900).

To get tire circumference in ft.: 150mm (tire width) x .7 (aspect ratio of tire) = 105mm. (105mm x 2) divided by 25.4 (mm per inch)= 8.268"

8.268"+ 17" (diameter of wheel)= 25.268". 25.268" x 3.1416 (this is Pi) = 79.382" or 6.615'.

To get drive ratio: Transmission 6th gear ratio is .929, Final drive ratio is 4.068. .929 x 4.068= 3.779

To get speed: Multiply 3900 rpm x 6.615' (tire circumference). Divide this result by the product of multiplying 3.779 (drive ratio) and 88 (this is a calculated constant, derived by dividing 5280 ft./mile by 60 minutes/hour).

The final calculation is: 25,798.500 divided by 332.552= 77.577 mph (or 124.899 kph for metric speedos).

Using the 7250 rpm red line gets a number of 144.214 mph (or 232.184 kph).

quite interesting facts.. this guy is definitely a nerd..

so top speed for S10 is abt 232kph..
