hi guys im just curious that on the s10 is there any place to lock the helmet other then putting them in the box.

 

For me, i installed an additon lock mechanism. Got it from adv-design website. But u can get from regina/ahboy. Ard $10-15. Jus need to use one of the screws. Tell them u need the helmet lock.

Congrats on getting ur cl2.that open doors to many exciting model available for ur to pick.the R1/Gsxr/RR/duc/BMW etc.

 

It depends on your preference speed & road surface(if any) of choice.

 

Sport tourer like STX,FJR have both the power & the seating position 'comfortable' enought for long tour

 

Adv tourer like GS/S10/Vstorm will have less speed & more flexible if chance upon situation like BKK flooding.

 

Mid size adv tourer like versys/800GS/crossrunner offer similar capability like it bigger adv tourer.

 

Sometime it depends on ur riding friends as well,a pack of haya/blackbird will not go well in tour with a lone cruiser.due to different fuel stop & petrol range.

 

Go with you wallet then your heart.

no offense at all, we are all sharing our experiences..

 

Yup,the arai XD2 are great for local use & slow speed off road tour.

 

The only issue with helmet shake cause by the peak is when high speed which a high screen will solve it ,if not then add on a touratech windscreen adjuster & confirm no shake no wind.

I prefer Arai though - i agree that their design/material s better than Shoei's , but to save that headache that i always have after long rides, i decided to sell it away ..

that means you are not suited for the shape. For me, Shoei gave me headache.. Bought it, and wore it on the way home... Headache after 10 mins of wearing... Luckily the salesman allow me to change something else...

Actually both companies does make different type of head shape helmets

 

Its classified to certain models for certain shapes of head.

 

Even for the mainstream flagship models like RX7 RRV or X-Twelve, the cheek pads and headliners can be more or less inter-changed in order to suit the rider's head.

But then, in sillypore, we dont have the fortune to have it change upon purchase...

only they will ask you to buy replacements in order to "change"...

 

thats to what I know...

I tend to agree that beside budget & choice of branding.the helmet shape design play a part too.

 

I fit nicely on a arai but just dun work for me with shoei.i own 3 shoei but usage was low cos I just dun fit into it & feel comfortable after a long trip.

Shoei need more votes here. I'm for shoei because its better value for my money. I worn arai before also. Both on par for my head. Shoei is so much more affordable.

 

The new Triumph tiger explorer 1200 looks great by the way

hi Teneres' I was at west coast highway yesterday saw a silver Tenere turning into shell station. Stood out becoz his rear brake lights had a blinker pattern. Anyone here?

 

I ride the other Yam, tdm 900 nice bikes you guys got there

 

btw anyone roughly know who the silver tenere was? i want to learn how he did the blinker rear light "P

hi guys im very intersted in getting the s10, but what is the different between the PI and the OEM other then just servicing at hone leong. i just check out with my bike pro need to place an order and going to take 3 months for the bike to arrival.

No difference in bike specs except for accessories.. N oso warranty of cos. hockie mentioned there's stock avail at hong leong too.

In south africa they change you a new bike even for just vibration issues so i've heard.

as far as local context concern. there is really not much different between agent(HL) S10 and P.I S10....as product recall etc are not common in SGP context.

 

HL give a 12mth or 12k km warranty which looks good except that to book service with the svc ctr can be abit eerrrr...."u know what".

 

So whats left is really bolt down to accessories and TRUE OTR pricing. (there is sooooo mannnny verison of OTR hence the word TRUE OTR).

best is ask the sale direct cos price usually varies when trade-in are involve.

Hi Hock, i have done that. waaah! so cun laaa. One have OEM sidebox, bash plate, headlight protector & after maarket wind shield. exhaust is stock. The other has Remus exhaust and the rest are stock. Itchy backside ady. Now back in office doing calculation.... hehehehe
