Bear markets must run their course and this one doesn't look like it has yet.

They are really useful for cutting your teeth as an investor - I've learnt much from the past 2 in the last decade. "Never test the depth of the water with both feet."

He who hesitates is lost!

Luckily i had released some of my stocks to buy my bike before the US down turn. I had initially wanted to pay off the bike using my savings, luckily i didn't make that move. The gap was close to 2k difference (each) from when i sold my stocks off to current market rate. I had also just received the dividend pay out..... i guess it's just the right timing. At least my bike's value is not dropping as fast as these stocks.... my paper loss is quite high now. Sigh.... lets home for a better tmrw

Throttle, heard from a friend of mine that you were invited to a wedding but couldn't make it. Could have put a face to your nick if you had come. :)

Land Banking now? Do you think its going to work out with the current sub primes crises in the US? It's something you can consider but your timing a bit out bro.... I nearly ventured into buying some small pieces of land in the UAE a few years back.... but last minute backed out and put my money in the Singapore Stock Exchange. :)

I just started working a few years back after finishing school so at that point of time, i had to put everything i had to do the land banking investment. I did some research but felt that this was something i couldn't constantly be there to monitor and "changes". So i decided to put my money locally.

Yeah, guess i would have been able to owned a small piece of land there and sold it off at a comfortable margin.... its all about gut feeling and timing.... I was looking at another Abedeen India investment at that time too. Dumped in 5k but not sure what happened now. Think its about time to call my invester to find out now.... maybe can buy another bike already. Ha ha.

I was introduced to it by my colleague's friend who was working a few levels above my office. That was back in '04, 4 years ago. Not sure if he's still up there.... you're interested in doing land banking in Dubai and UAE?

no problem lah, just hang in there.

As long as you dont leverage to trade margin, you will only lose your own money at most. I'm sure you were already prepared to lose when you first put your money in. so should be no issue even though a bit painful.

losing own money is fine. in life, we all make decisions that sometimes win , sometimes lose. It's ok lah, Bro. this time we lose, next time we try to win back.

Good luck to us.

Hindsight is always 20-20. If you buy now and it goes down further, you'll kick yourself for buying too early. If you don't buy now and it goes up and never goes down, you'll kick yourself for missing the boat.

For small fries like myself, I've realized it's useless to do any sort of analysis. Just think of yourself as a coconut bobbing on the waves. You'll be carried wherever the BBs carry you to. :)
