but I wont add on anymore as I also have wingtai and exposure to property directly via my condo at Oxley area.

i am looking to invest ard 5-10k, preferance bonds because i quite risk averse, how do i start? dun really trust those financial consultant at upb, etc, can anyone advice? really damn blur. thanks!!

online broker selling unit trust and bond funds.

 

you shut out the middlemen via investing online.

 

shop around. and learn as much as you can.

 

i read up on investing materials for the past 3 years before i entered the market just a few weeks ago. and even then, i know theory and pratical application are 2 very different things.

 

I'm not like @Throttle, who can slam 20k on a stock just like that. cause i don't even have 20k to begin with! :(

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

Retail bonds usually trade in deno of 10k . Some do trade $1k sizes but yields are so low, it's ridiculous to bother. Got 10k just buy some dividend stocks and close your eyes.

If it's that simple, ppl like throttle will b out of job. Buying is easy.. Buying the right one is another thing altogether.

 

Here's my favorite analogy, I pay a hair dresser to cut my hair. I can save money by cutting it myself... But there's obvious

 

reasons why i don't.. Same thing when your piston seize... YOu can go online and read up how to fix it yourself. But for obvious

 

reasons alot of us rather pay a mechanic to do it. The analogy can go on and on with millions of examples.

 

End day, You just have to find the right trustworthy person..

sold some Ascendas today. i think it should go to $2.15 but will slowly take.
