Hey ah pek , need to ask u ah, how do u do a push start . sometime bike left for too long , dam engine slping cant start, veri much appreciate it if u got the solution.

S4 is one of thee easiest bike I find to push start.. If you can find slope..that's the best. When the bike starts to row and pick up pace..engine key "ON"..clutch in and shift into second gear and release till biting point and throttle abit when you feel the engine kicking "in"..that should kick the engine to fire up.

No slope..if got someone to help..sit on your bike and does the same thing above..but there is a poor guy behind pushing as hard as he can to pick up speed..

Do like I do.."On" engine key..clutch in...shift into second gear..then start walking fast to pick up speed..then release clutch till biting point. If you are lucky..7 to 8 paces will do. If engine splatter (if its real bad)...don't stop..strat runing a bit with clutch 3/4 way out.

All performing the above...please remember to IMMEDIATELY clutch in and rev when the engine starts.

The ebst way..get a fellow rider and a"jump strat" cable. Have save many ppl from towing fee this way so far...yah...even 3:45 am in the morning in Singapore somewhere...:faint:..but ok lah..know I make ppl happy :)

hmm ah pek , i cant make it tmr 10.30am, working till abt 1pm. can i come @ 1.15?

also checking , i pumped full tank and used about 90km(most of it is hard core rev-ing till 13k rpm. when i start the bike in the morning it shows 3 bar.. when i ride abit it comes 4..and about 1km later it comes 5 bar again, and then suddenly it drops to 3 back to 4.. before i got the bike , the bar and clock wasn't working and he said he changed the fuse for me, the odometer shows 143912 which is 140k of mileage, i thought 99k will reset? is it something faulty?

Timing on my side all mixed up liao...just come lah..got ppl then wait lor.

The fuel in the tank is in churning like as if you are stiring a glass of water in a mug when the bike is in motion. I believe the float in the fuel tank that translate your level reading is like a small boat riding a miniture Tsunami..that may be the cause of the radon values of the fuel level (bars reading).

As for the mileage reset..not sure what they did or is there any difference when the iginition key is changed..I hate digital stuff anyway.. Those digital instrument and stuff under our humid climate and erratic weather can work havoc after long exposure. I have always prefer analog stuff. Suggest you go back bike shop and make some noise.:sian:

oh ah pek .. i have to mention this .. after pouring nano into the fuel tank.. my fuel guage did go haywire.. even when i pump till the brim .. it showed only 4 bars, and while riding , it will go into reserve but i only clock like 20km. but after 3 or 4 tanks of petrol .. my fuel guage went back to normal .. i think it has to be the nano blocking out the sensor cause vtec are using electronic guage .. not too sure leh..

btw i got myself some basic tools alr - bondhus (usa) allen keys, sunflag (japan) screwdrivers and a few king tony (taiwan) spanners. have you heard of the german brands elora and stahlwille? or any other quality brands to recommend? i've read abt snap-on but heard that the prices are exhorbitant?

Smoothie,

Which Sunflag screwdriver model do you own? How long have you owned them? How often do you use them? How are your Sunflag screwdrivers holding up? Would you recommend the Sunflag screwdriver brand? If yes, could you please explain why in terms of these categories:

- amount of wear on the screwdriver tip after months or years of use

- the durability of the handle after many hits with a hammer

- the resistance of the screwdriver handle to oil, gasoline, diesel, transmission fluid, and brake fluid

- the effectiveness of the square shank on the model "215" (if you own them) to transmit additional torque to break loose a cross recess or slotted fastener with an open-ended spanner

- the comfort of the handle

I am interested in purchasing the Sunflag model "888" or "215" screwdriver set from an Australian hand tool reseller. I would like to make an informed decision based on your comments.

Thanks,

Dave

Oh ok...have check with two others Vtec rider...no such happening abd as for Brandon, he has not use Nano yet. So conclusion wise, Adrian..I can't say much how true your case is as far as Nano is affecting your fuel tank sensor. It helps if other Vtec rider who uses Nano can input here.:sian:

hi guys. My RPM reading in my VERS is going crazy. sometime, at zero, sometimes working. Suspect the connections between the engine and the RPM cable is loose or the meter and the RPM cable is loose.

Where can I find the point where the RPM cable connects to the engine and how to get to the meter to fix the RPM cable connection there?

Many thanks.

Not sure what type of cable you are referring to but if its the "RPM" meter..its an electrical cable. Disassemble your meter and and headlamp cover. Check the connectors to the rpm and that of the main hardness wiring do not have a loose connection or the clip connestors does not have water.

The worst thing that can happen is the connector electrical wiring copper wires are 'carbonised' or corroded..or at worst, your rpm meter circuit board may have intermittent problem (but unlikely).

Shake all the connectors inside the headlamp..you be surprise how much water are trapped in those click square connectors.

Good luck.
