Thought I would do some DIY to make my bike look better :p

It's basically a mask sprayed black used to cover the speedo and rpm meter back covers.

 

Would like to get inputs on how to make it better (or if it's ugly remove it altogether)

Hey bros,sorry to ask alot here but got some disturbing issues with my bike, wad cud be the next prob when i already washed carb, changed air filter and ask shop to tune my bike but still my bike got pick up problem or throttle respond problem. when i change to gear 2,3 and while the rpm is at 3, there will be like this tight and heavy feeling, like pulling back from my bike than when it reaches 4 rpm onwards, the throttle responds is back to normal again.cud it be due to small rear sprocket? cuz mine is 42 teeth, infront dunnoe, cant see..standard sprocket teeth is 44 rite?

 

42 is normal..front is generically 15. Your engine oil may be of too thick a grade or too much for your bike. Last but not least, your jetting may not be syandard or clutch cable adjustment improper...and also spark plug issue.

Can always go get chiong new one from LAB..$15 or so..very nice.

 

If you want black and diy, the most important thing is the "prep" stage. Make sure you fine sand it with applying too much pressure with water at the same time. When done..bake it under the sun b4 the first spray. Afetr spraying..bake again and when dried...sand very lightly again. Repeat at least three times for a solid paint work layering to last. Same for exhaust header.

 

TAKE NOTE...make sure while spraying..the can spray should be at least 10 inches or a feet away. Never mind about the thin coat and sparse coverage..just gradually increase the paint layer...too thick..koyak!

I had some sort of the same problem, mine was when rpm reaches 5.5, there will be tremendous loss of power. After clear the 5.5 area reach 6k onwards smooth. And I was experiencing this on all gears.

 

After troubleshooting by Ahpek and Ahfook, problem was found to be a faulty circuit board in one of the meters. Changed it and had no prob after tht.

LAB sells things like tht? I didn't know, never rly "explored" LAB much. Everytime crowded >_> I think the mask cannot be sprayed. Since its made of rubber. The paint cracked when the rubber is flexed. I think have to use normal paint to paint it.

Hmmm...what mask and rubber are you actually referring too now..tot u were talking about the chrome meter cup like cover...but if its the palstic black piece between them..still can...like I say..must "bake" under the sun till dried.

hi, selling my EPS Power Charger. Bought from a fellow forumer. Now selling bike so accesorries have to go. Able to fit all classes/models of bikes. Retail price is $220. My selling price: $170 fixed.

Hi ah pek,

 

Remember that time i had a coolant leaking problem, actually it is due to the the 2 small metalic pipe connected to the engine which broke. 4 connecting from the coolent pipes the middle 2 broke. Then also the thermostat broke. Sad... Repairing the whole coolent system cos me $635.. Lolz.. But then now it nv really overheat and become unbreable..

hey super 4 old birds. can i ask smth. i realised that spec 3 got some fan system as their cooling system right. when it gets too hot the fan will turn on. but for ver s, there isnt such a fan system right? cos i dun hear any fan sounds as from the spec 3

all ver of s4 is using fan cooling system..better get ur fan checked as it supposed to 'ON' wenever engine temp gets too hot....:angel:

Don't hear is good and don't come on is good..but make sure your fan is working. To test..just ground it.:sian:

Try and it works is not but used and all the claims it makes..better if you can explain how it works actually. Anyone here know how it works?:sian:

my handlebar also vibrate like a tank slap when i try to ride with no hand. :cheeky:

 

i think it's due to the physical terrain instead of what expired fork seal and fork oil. :goodluck:

 

 

ah pek.

 

idk if my fan is working properly or not.

 

normally after i 'kill' the engine and if it is hot, the fan'd be on. like only for super long rides like 1hour++ during the afternoon timing when the weather is very hot.

 

when i'm riding that time, i'm not sure if the fan is on or not.

 

so far the temperature warning light has never turn on and the heat from the engine block is okay for me.

 

it's normal right? :D

and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,

torque is how far you take the wall with you.

ah pek, heard u got chain lub too. my rockoil chain lub finish liao. u hav? hehe..

 

Currently don't have but hopely may be by this weekend lah. I wn't support Rockoil liao..damn expensive for the amount content in that size can thosugh its as good as the one I'm using now.

 

I'll post here if I go down and pick 12 cans of the chain lube.:sian:

how often do we lube the chain?

 

depend . some ppl like to lube everytime it rain . some weekly . some monthly . for me i normally lube every 2 week . depend on yourself . how comfortable you feel

Ah..seems like almost the same prob...if got the free time, will try ask ahpek to take a look at my bike,thks bro metal_heart & ahpek for the advise.:) btw, wanna ask. when do the reserve petrol start to be use, when the needle reach at the top of the red mark or right below the red mark? cuz i will only pump petrol when the needle is a the bottom of the red bar which gives me about 15L and my mileage will be around 330 more or less...
