The tripod that comes free with it is not really useful. I'd say get one that best fits your budget and a reliable brand. For me, weight matters and I'll defintely get a CF to begin with. Its better than having to upgrade later and waste money (however, this has always the case). For cheap and reliable brand, Manfrotto is one you can trust.

For dry cab, get the 60L Digicab. I got mine for around $100 IIRC. Should be more than sufficient.

As big as possible. As mentioned by GoofRider, you can fit in your other things as well. I got my 2 DLSRs, 1 Sony DSC W-50 camera, 3 hard drives, 1 binoculars, batteries, 1 SB-800 speed light, memory cards and of course, my precious lenses. I dunno the capacity of mine though

Hello,

After having a go at my cousin's DSLR, I decided to scout for one. To date, I've used simple film, digital point-and-shoot, and then the advancement into sub-prosumer cameras (the Canon Powershot models).

My question is, what are your recommendations for the cheapest prosumer camera that allows previewing the output via the viewfinder or an LCD screen (ala a DSLR camera). I need a camera to be able to tell me whether the output is going to be favourable or not when focusing, etc...

Pardon me for being a little bit picky, btw. Thanks!
