riding at 120km/hr,

to have a very drastic drop of speed when totally close throttle..

I also have a question...

My bike front Tyre pressure tend to decrease much faster then the rear tire (Normally I pump my tires in the morning before i go to work every 2 weeks)...

Front pressure (the pressure i normally pump): 36

Rear Pressure (the pressure i normally pump): 38

After 2 weeks when i pump again.. Front drop to 30 ~ 32 (~5).. Rear drop to 35 ~ 36 (~1-2)..

Same thing.. Is this norm?? Send to bike shop to check for leak.. But no leak..

Also.. Found out that my cone bearing up the lorry when I changed my front at K&T.. Dont think the stearing cone will affect the pressure much right??

Or is it my suspension settling? Too soft?? My front fork compress until its left with about 1 finger spacing after hard braking.. Is it Compressing too much when braking, causing most of the weight to the front and acting too much pressure on the front tire? Just change my tire not long ago.. Find out that the front wheel tend to wear out faster also...

Many Thanks all Busa bros...

same thing happens to me.. didnt thing that was strange.. i thought that maybe the front tyres get more pressure when u brake so leak faster... maybe i am wrong.. not sure about this.. all the shifus can help... :lovestruck:

290kpa front n back is recommend. try this air pressure then take note of the drop again.

ur suspension setting is the new fork or old fork? it shld be harder on the new fork if it is still soft, u need to rebuilt it.

290 kpa... okok.. Noted.. Suspension is with ref to my old fork.. Had ask K&T to change the oil and dust cover for the new fork.. After that will monitor again.. Bike still at K&T.. Not ready yet..

If I may say this though I don't ride a busa anymore. Suspension settings is a very individual feel base on solely your preference. There is no right or wrong be it a singer finger spacing or not. People who go track, usually prefer soft, street hard. By saying hard for street need not necessary mean for compression only, it can be on your rebound as well. In fact, compression might be softer than rebound in proportion. What is important is your pre sag. Which means the distance that your bike weight is travelling without rider's weight. When that is correct then only will you be able to set according to your weight. After which the 'feel' comes in. That is whether you prefer faster or slower rebound. If you need to set your suspension, go to the pro unless you know how to on your own.

As for tire wear, the stock busa with a torque of about 98psi & 160bhp (+-), will definitely wear off your rear tire first. If your front tire wears off first, only 2 possibilities. 1, you are using the wrong tire pressure or fork settings. 2, your busa needs to do a top overhaul. In my 8 years of owning a busa, I never had 1 experience of wearing the front tire first. Not sure about the 08 models onwards though. I may be heavy but is not sufficient to wear off the rear as compared to normal built riders. Recommended pressure is 42psi for both front and back. If you think you prefer your ride not to be too bumpy then can down pressure slightly to 40psi for your front.

Tourers like the FJR, GTR and the STX, will have front tires worn off first. Due to softer front. So when braking, most weight is transferred to the front and thus causing the front to wear off faster. I am saying this to explain the login on why I mention if you have wrong forks settings.

Hope this helps!

Another point to add, if you find your tire pressure leaking too frequent, have your tire valves check. If you are using the bike as a daily transport, it should not leak that much. Unless you only ride once a week or a fortnight.

Thanks bro StEeL...

If its the fork setting then that should not be too much of a problem...

Just change my K7 fork on 2 day ago :thumb:.. Will monitor again...

But why do i need to overhaul my engine IF its not the suspension setting? THis i dont get it?

Yup.. Had been using it as a daily transport... Had the valve checked.. But the mech says not leaking.. So i think i have to stick to the suspension setting 1st..

Many thanks again...

That is because you are loosing too much power which is why it's not driving enough power to wear off your rear tire.:) Top overhaul and not engine overhaul if you are mistaken. That consist of your tensioner, timing chain, valve clearance, shim stack check, check on your cams re-degree and also at the same time your radiator hoses replacement. What's your mileage? If it's about 60k then it's about time. Otherwise, higher possibilities on your settings then. Many riders can't accept hard settings but if you want your ride to perform, you have to take it. K7 forks are good but stock settings are way to soft. Looking at your tires wear marks should be abl to tell.
