anyone got experience of the ball bearing of the pillion footpeg being stuck in the footpeg? Any suggestion of how to force the ball bearing out?

I burn the footpeg (hoping it will expand), use soap, use WD40, but the ball bearing still stuck.... haiz... :(

Okie I've attached a photo of the footpeg. I was trying to install this aftermarket footpeg. We are suppose to put the spring into the small hole before putting the ball bearing... But I put the ball bearing first and it got stuck... :(

The one on the left is stuck halfway, a bit protruding out... the one on the right is stuck all the way in...

buy new set... let other do.. tik you fail big time in D.i.Y..:faint:

Ya lor... I always fail big time with DIY... was intending to be more independent and DIY more, so decided to start with small small things first lor... Haiz... footpeg also can't change properly, can forget about other things already... :(

Anyway, there's still footpeg in place... went to Guan Hoe just now to buy 2 ball bearings and fixed back the OEM footpeg... The aftermarket footpegs will be collecting dust in my storeroom... o_O

Actually I was quite surprised that a simple thing such as pillion footpegs also have so many mechanism inside... ball bearing, spring, spacer etc... and I thought it looks easy... :p

Yes I do mind to give the breakdown. For crying out lound why my 24K service became so big issue. Someone ask questions and he mentioned that something was very suspisius and another guy came up with the conclusion I-Motoring are cheaters. I put down what was done on my bike for general reference and not to start a war of words. You want to send yr bikes to them is fine with me, you do not want to, is also fine with me. As far as I'm concern they do an excellent job and I will stay with them.

I'm realy pissed the way the things turn out here.

P.S: Quizesilver, this reply is not directed to you but in general.

Hey hey bro.. sorry my question turned out to be quite a furore in here. It was neva meant to be like this so calm down ya.

Every individuals have their personal opinions on the shops they bring their bikes for servicing, so long as u're happy with wad u paid for, that's period!

Calm down alittle as I'm pretty sure that wad the other forumers had in mind was juz to share n not cause any kinda words war or wadsoeva!

Tks again for sharing the infomation.. I'm now seeking to find out wad kinda servicing i shld do for my bike as the mileage is close to 25k.

Take it easy bro. :thumb:

I think 25k servicing just do the usuals can already. Your next major servicing should be 30k where you need to do valve clearance and change some tensioner thingy (not sure if I heard wrongly from my mech). :)

Strictly following the manual will tell you that a 24K servicing needs to be done with the addition of valve tappet clearance, shims and cam chain tensioner checks, adjust and replace if necessary. I would suppose the replacement would be for those who always pump it out hard on their ride and therefore, its safer to follow the guideline stated. Just my .0002 cent.

Cheers!
