Full overhaul $1300 only? Or that's for the service or whatever.

I was thinking of getting Fufu26's Year 2000 FS White Hayabusa that is currently being advertised in the Forums. Unsure about it, but I was thinking of getting the bike to 'tong' until 2010, when the COE expires (Or if the COE happen to drop to $1 or something, straight away chiong extend), then do a overhaul, change until the bike practically become new, was thinking of setting $5k budget when that happens. Not sure if that's a good idea though.

Good idea.. but 5k will not be enough..

Why don't you use the 5k to downpay for a Gen1 busa... think you can still get a brand new 07 one at a much cheaper price now.... :)

I don't think is that expensive. You can go find yourself at KS Motor Parts and you will know what I mean. :)

haha..it is to me.. still studying, tuition income to support the bike.. Passion for busa doesnt come easy.

Still worth it though..

Not full overhaul..just major top overhaul and also change the magneto and the bearings.. labor charge is 350. in my opinion..since busa 07 below all dropping prices..might as well get a newer one. unless that busa u wanna get has gd mileage and no accident.. mine has high mileage and accident before wen i gt it.

i think u mis-interpreted him... i think what he means is that it can be cheaper and you should check out KS Motors instead... :)

Doing overhaul nw..seems the flywheel magneto is dented and rotating in s-shape,whacking the bearings too. No wonder got heavy knocking sound. Quoted $1300.. Haiz..

if i'm not mistaken, a brand new set of wiring harness cost in the range of 800+...

Thats the problems with our mind, the strength we gain always stays.

Likewise to Hayabusa which I had tasted a good setup one then the new K8, thats why I felt quite shiity IMO. :D

Whenever I tried a car or a motorcycle, the rock bottom basic requirements must be obtain which is overall balance. From power donation to handling to braking force to visuality to accessibility and such ...

To wrap up as whole story ends, I will calculate the best value for money in a whole package as a end user who is ready to spend. :)

As for your Busa, I am totally not interested ... maybe you 02strokes 250 ... :D

For the sake of friendly argument and knowledge sharing... based on specs of the new Busa, wouldn't the new one be a better base to start with for performance? The stock 08 engine has a higher output and in theory, should get a bigger power gain for the same amount of money input? The improvement in aerodynamics and handling would also ensure that overall ride in better, right?

Yes, the base price for the new busa is a few thousands more than the pre 08 models. But for the typical local riders where most buy the bike via loan, it is literally 'invisible' because the difference in monthly installments is a manageable sub-one-hundred a month. And when the same power hungry, performance oriented rider 'invests' in aftermarket components, will he not gain more power from the same amount thrown in?

As for my noisy 2 stroker... sorry man... thats my personnel toy... cannot share one! hehe

I had tried the new K8 Busa, ok only leh ... :D

One thing I must say is that K8 Busa is indeed better the old model in every sense in riding experience.

I am comparing stock to stock.

The potential of the old one can easily overwrite the new one as for end user to purchase aftermarket bolt on mods. :p

I meant mods that is done to make ride better not brutal power.

K8 new OTR around 27.5k

Pre K8 new OTR around 23.5k

There is a different of 4k, moreover some old stocks are going 21k OTR.

With that different, bolts on mods can easily put the new Busa to sleep. :)

The "price list", where did you get the quotes from (Which Motordiam)? Interested in the old stocks. :cheeky:

Just a survey, any Hayabusa riders like to have customised LED blinkers???

No need to change your existing blinkers ( front is built-in ), just need to make a internal LED board and connect to the existing socket.

I used super-bright range of LED which are obvious even in the day. Will upload a link after i upload a video of my blinkers.

Pricing is calculated as :

1 x LED @ S$ 1.20

1 x Resistor @ S$ 0.05

1 x blank circuit-board ( cut to shape ) @ S$ 2.50

1 x 1-time coffee-money @ S$ 15.00

Min required is 4 x LED + 5 x Resistor + 1 x blank circuit-board + Coffee money = S$ 22.55

The blinker featured in the video ( to be uploaded ) is a 16-LED.

Anyone interested???

Please contact me @ 9628 7970 for direct fast deal.

what kind of mod are you looking for?

changing the core?

upping the size of the headers?

changing the bends on the headers?

changing the sleeves?

:cheeky: how about the core? where is the best place to do? what is done to improve it?
