if it is way below your expectation, then I would really not expect anything from that exhibition. Heard there was stunt performance. was it good?

I think its okie lah.. get to see a lot of nice euro brand bikes... worth the $8 tix (student price) I paid for. But not really worth $15.... haha...

Quite tempted by some moto guzzi bikes.... :cheeky:

I paid student price myself as well but really, i felt the $8 paid wasn't worth it at all. Perhaps its juz me but I was really expecting something gd, like those cars exhibition..

Overall, very few japanese bike, most of them are continental bikes.

Like u, its really way way below my expectations.. wasn't really worth while visiting unless u've got something to buy..

Hi guys..

Any advise on Pilot Sport HPX on hayabusa?as in dry and wet grip?then how abt mileage?

I looked at Michelin website and they recommend busa to use that..

I looked at Pirelli Diablo and it seems like review on it not that good..

I search on this thread, and Pilot Sport HPX not that popular,it seems like mostly use bridgestone..

So any kind soul tried this tyre would like to share with me?or perhaps other tyre brand?

I'm using it mostly for touring, commuting and sport(not track, but perhaps few of high speed cornering).

Thanks in advance..

I thought a thought. But the thought I thought wasn't the thought I thought I thought. If the thought I thought I thought had been the thought I thought, I wouldn't have thought so much.

Not so sure on those tyres. I've tried Michelin 2CT and is NOT recommended for Hayabusa. Too sporty, excellent tyre but for sports bikes only. Now using Metzeler Sportec M3. Millage about 9000km (hard riding), very good tyres. Going to change again to Sportec M3 soon.

M3...how does the grip?dry and wet?cornering wise?

I'm still on stock tyres...now 18000+ already..Thread finishing...surveying first before I change...

ah hah!! you asked at the right site! because, i used that very tyres before. if you are looking at just using for touring, commuting and occasional high speed cornering, these tyres will do you good. they are in fact touring tyres designed to sustain stability at high speed. you can feel the tyres being very stable, no wobbly action at over 250kmh. they will last you a long time. however, the down side of these tyres are that they take a while to warm up. doing cornering have to be in extreme dry surface and better still, hot surface. only then, it will have proper cornering grip. wet grip is good. but dun do any hard acceleration or cornerings with these tyres in the wet. no tyres can take it.

to conclude, these tyres are good for your touring and commuting usage. occasional sports riding is not bad. my opinion is that i dun get too much confidence cornering low with these tyres. but due to its medium-hard compound, it will last you quite long. hope these help. :thumb:

hey dude, since you have used both tyres before, how's the grip comparing 2CT and M3? am i right to say that M3 will last longer? i'm currently using 2CT and having lots of fun with it! so i'm just wondering if i can get the same kind of fun from M3?

OK...thanks for the info...

When u said "doing cornering have to be in extreme dry surface and better still, hot surface. only then, it will have proper cornering grip."..it makes me not confidence in the tyre :faint:

coz i feel great on stock tyre, esp cornering on dry weather, can lean quite low...but on wet condition, I dare not to play corner at all with it...but I'm eyeing right now tyres that are abt e same as stock or perhaps better :)

Anyway, thanks...

I also keen to know more abt the M3...

how abt the Z6 from metzeler?anyone tried?

me just changed to pilot road...

feels good on the corner very smooth n stable....

grippy enough for me, no issue with it..

went at 280km/h with no issue, performs fine.

have not really tried any high speed corners with it yet... so cannot comment on that

so far am happy with the tyres... (for normal road riding n occassional crazy moments)

I found M3 better. Maybe because the cornering is far smoother than 2CT. Busa is a fat ass bike not designed for 2CT type tires.

Wow! 18,000km still on stock tires! You must be a super smooth rider. Mine is at 24,000km and I'm going to change tires for the 3rd time very soon. NONE of the tires has grip in wet. So do not waste your time checking on wet. You have 160-170 BHP on your rear wheel, do you think any tire will hold you on wet with such BHP?

M3 longer life smoother cornering. 2CT shorter life, sharper cornering and a bit better grip. If you are not into cornering you will find 2CT very difficult tyres to ride on. I suggest you go for M3.

I see....ok thanks guys...Appreciate it very much for all the suggestions & advices... :)

Btw, I thought tires will normally finish around 15000+?so mine 18000+ is considered normal right?

I didnt always go 200+...maybe every weekend and during touring...

I thought a thought. But the thought I thought wasn't the thought I thought I thought. If the thought I thought I thought had been the thought I thought, I wouldn't have thought so much.

So far do you have any prob with Metz tires? i was considering M3 too but was told that metz tires' grip is not so good and easy to skid.. got a few frens all skid on metz tires... Or is busa heavy enuff to make sure the metz tires grip the road tight? :D

i would prefer road 2

What do you think of Road 2 so far and wat's the mileage you get from it? :)

I'm using 2ct, no complaints at all.. maintaining high speed with no issues at all.. good grip both dry and wet... handles well..

into my 2nd set of 2ct already.. will be staying with it till a better tyre comes around..

There's no replacement for displacement except for a blower

well, dun lose faith in the tyres. they are really close to the stock ones. just that it is of much better quality. since you dun do corners in the wet so there's nothing to worry about HPX. of cos its cornering grip cannot be compared to 2CT or even M3. HPX can also lean low but the grip is just average. Z6 is also touring tyre with hard compound. not bad but i rather you get HPX. I heard Pilot Power Road 2 is rather good. have not tried it personally so cant tell you. :cheeky:

yes it can be rather heavy to lift the bike up but its also due to applying the correct technique. i conduct lessons every tuesday night so you can call me and i can give you some "personal" coaching. :cheeky:

maybe i'll give M3 a try on the next tyre change. so far, i'm very happy with the 2CT. very sharp control on the corners. super grippy. even on a moderate dry surface. stable on high speed corners of about 200kmh. best still, get a 55mm profile which i'm having. so nice to lean into the corners.:thumb:

i really wonder how you managed to get 18000 from your stock tyres. mine was about gone after 8000 or 10000. :giddy:
