wad u say is so true man..

(230307) at abt 1820hrs while driving down the main road @ Cairnhill Rd, a BMW 7 series w/o checking his left accelerated out from the waiting area at the office area after somerset cairnhill residences.

I was totally shock when tat fella hit me. I was asking myself, how in the world did he not see me? (He knocked into my rear door near the driver's seat). It was clear to me tat i've given him more den enuff safe distance to stop & inch out, but not to the extend of knocking into other moving vehicles on the right lane of the main road..

After the impact, he walked straight up to me to apologize, gd thing was he was gentlemanly enuff to admit his mistake n offered to pay for the repairs (no nid to go thru any ugly scenes)

Seriously speaking.. some singaporean drivers really have poor judgements when it comes to driving.

Guys, as we are all rider, I urge all of u to keep a safe distance if possible and give pple enuff room to maneuver. Always beware of/take precaution by giving way to other drivers whom u tink may post potential threat to others.

Always ride safe n stay safe!!

hey bro...ur rite..some singaporean drivers really have poor judgements when it comes to driving.. one big danger on our rds are lady and taxi drivers...no offence to d gerls but im serious. dos lady drivers can be so fickle minded abt changing lanes and taxi drivers dun care abt changing lanes..once i saw dis lady driver stop right in d middle of the rd!!! juz like dat and change lanes.. haiz..

no offence to ladies but yes, there have been times where i've seen lady drivers stop in da middle of the road juz to lane change. Rd in front of then were empty but the backlog of vehicles these drivers caused, massive!!

Well, we have all kinds of drivers in SG, hence we've gotta accomodate to everybody. In order to make our roads much safer, every1 has gotta play their part in observing safety and exercise precaution.

Same for bike, best is neva 2 travel by the blind spots of other vehicles, slow down when it comes to a T-junction or junctions where the opposite vehicles are not able to see u (dun bcoz our bike is power enuff to beat the amber light, we juz chiong).

I've played my part in trying to exercise safety but sometimes, its juz not u.. its the others who fail on their part of safety.

Anyway, lets be happy n ride our bikes safely!

Cheers!~

Sure thing. Some like to squeeze out more power out of the engine, while some like to beautify the exterior of the bike, some like to trash the bike, some give tender loving care to the bike.

Simply put, there are all kinds of riders. No problem with that. All kinds of riders are welcomed to be my friend, except those who put up a huge ego in front of themselves.

haha... I once got to see a group of riders on a bunch of big bikes and tried to be friendly with them but all I got was this "go away lah, your bike so small" look. I was riding my small bike that day you see...Sigh... super lame right?

But I'm sure none of us are like that here right?

Of course, not for me, man!! Any bikers/drivers/pedestrians can be my friends regradless of what earthly possessions they owned.

Maria Costello

Female TT lap and Guinness World Record holder, Maria Costello is now the first woman solo racer to be on the podium in the history of the Isle of Man TT and Manx Grand Prix!

Race Highlights

2005 - MARIA MADE HISTORY BY BECOMING THE FIRST FEMALE SOLO RACER TO GET ON THE PODIUM AT THE ISLE OF MAN MANX GP.

ISLE OF MAN MANX GRAND PRIX Maria made history books once again at the Isle of Man when she took third place in the Ultra Lightweight category of the 2005 Manx GP. On board an RLR Motorsports Honda RVF400, provided by Tim Bradley, Maria became the first ever woman to take a podium finish in either a TT or Manx GP.

ISLE OF MAN TT RACES In her debut appearance at the Irish Road Race Maria was the third 400 to cross the finishing line onboard the RLR Motorsports Honda RVF400. Placing her, in the joint 125cc/400cc race, 7th overall. She also raced in both 600cc classes on her Bering Honda CBR600RR.

2004 - MARIA BECAME THE OUTRIGHT FASTEST WOMAN TO LAP THE TT COURSE and collected a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD in the process.

ISLE OF MAN MANX GRAND PRIX Padgett's Suzuki GSXR750 K2

Island Motorcycles Ltd Honda CBR600RR

Maria was beaten by only seven men in the premier race of the event. Finishing the Senior in 8th place out of over 80 male competitors was an awesome achievement as she competed with her collarbone still broken. The first three to take the podium broke the outright MGP lap record.

ISLE OF MAN TT RACES Maria became the outright fastest woman to lap the tt course. On the standing start lap of the TT Production 1000 race she average a speed of 114.73mph placing her at the top of women's list in the events history books. Unbeknown to Maria she achieved this record with a broken collarbone, which she thought had healed. Due to mechanical failure she was forced to retire from the race.

Production 1000 Race - Suzuki GSXR750 K2 - DNF.

Production 600 Race - Island Motorcycles Ltd Honda CBR600RR - 39th and Bronze

2003 - FASTEST WOMAN EVER AT MANX GRAND PRIX

ISLE OF MAN MANX GRAND PRIX Tony Scott Tuning/Noel Clegg Motorcycles Honda CBR600RR.

A standing start lap of 113.52mph eclipsed Maria's existing TT course personal best and left her just 11 seconds outside the Guinness World Record of fastest female lap record.

Her sterling performance saw her collect a silver replica with her fantastic 15th place in the Senior Race.

ISLE OF MAN TT RACES Production 600 - Martin Bullock/Honda Racing CBR600RR - 41st.

It was a TT to remember for all the wrong reasons, the death of the Man Mountain - David Jefferies cast a black shadow over the entire event, Maria Costello had not only lost her TT mentor but a close friend.

The fog caused havoc in the 600 production race, with a four hour delay and shortened to two laps.

RACE OF THE YEAR Fred Beecroft Memorial Race - 13th Supersport 600 Race - 12th

Invited to race in the Fred Beecroft Memorial Race by the late Fred Beecroft's daughter, Maria used Guy Martin's Suzuki GSXR600 for her one and only short circuit meeting of 2003.

Enjoyed competing against the British Supersport Champion, Karl Harris, in the Supersport race.

2002 - FASTEST WOMAN EVER AT MANX GRAND PRIX

ISLE OF MAN MANX GRAND PRIX One step closer to getting into the Guinness Book of Records. Maria Costello has officially become the fastest woman at the Manx Grand Prix and is the overall second fastest woman to have lapped the TT course. Her fastest lap of 110.25mph.

Junior Race - 29th, Silver Replica. Senior Race - 23rd Silver Replica.

Lesley Ann Trophy - Best performance by a female racer at the Manx GP.

One of the IndyCar Series' brightest young drivers, Danica Patrick has blossomed into one of the country's brightest sports stars. But Patrick, who has been featured on the covers of Sports Illustrated, TV Guide and ESPN: The Magazine, is anything but an overnight success.

Though she began racing only because younger sister Brooke wanted to race go-karts, Patrick won numerous karting titles. At age 16, she left home for England, where raced in some of the most difficult junior series in the world. The highlight was a runner-up finish in the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch, England, the highest finish by an American in the event's history. That result drew the attention of Indianapolis 500 champion Bobby Rahal, who quickly signed her to a contract and began shepherding Patrick up the racing ladder.

Away from the track, Patrick, who married Paul Hospenthal in November 2005, enjoys shopping, watching movies, music and working out.

all this aside.. i don't think its fair to make such a sweeping statement. there are lots of screwed up male drivers too..

although it's a fact that the female's frontal perception is not as good as guys.. but relatively they have better peripheral vision...
