It is not how hard you fall, its how fast you get up.

Some parts can get chiong ones.....those parts that involves safety should be original or higher end parts.

Life is more important then price. Like what some people say.....The helmet you wear determines the value of your head.

just a word of advice, be sure to check out the background of the site where u're getting from.. ebay is a pretty secured site as the payment and trading account is monitored..

Also, try not to get aftermarket parts unless necessary.. accessories are okie but for safety purposes, go for the originals.. like what they say "japanese engineers have tried and tested the various brands that's why the brake pads you used are chosen.. it's the optimal for your bike... " :)

Selling Fanciful and Vintage Helmets. Interested pls Pm me!

Ebay is definitely a good place to source for spare parts, accessories, or apparels. Not all, but some pricing are normally cheaper, even after shipping. I personally bought quite a number motorcycle accessories and parts from UK and US. So far so good. Lead time can range from 1 week to 1 mth, depending on the seller and the type of shipment. Some stuffs you might not even find in Singapore. Be sure to check their ratings before buying. But still, You have to do your maths yourself before buying, whether price is really cheaper.

Normally what I do when I'm in doubt of a motorcycle online store, I will check out for reviews from overseas forums, especially community relating to your bike model. In big places like europe or US where motordiam are like few hundred miles away from their residential area or parts are not always stocked, their practice is that they normally order parts online and fix it at their garage or bring to their motordiam on 1 fine day to do everything in 1 shot. So generally, sourcing for motorcycle parts from overseas is quite reliable. The only killer is international shipment fees. Just make sure payment is make via paypal, in case if you have any dispute with the buyer, you still can request paypal to hold the transaction within 45 days and get back refund.

I'm looking for sites that i can purchase bike items overseas as well. any recommendations?

Some of the sites which I frequent.

d2moto.com

podiumsuperbike.com

kneedraggers.com

ebay.com

pjsparts.com

Some vendors do ship overseas, but some don't, probably might have to use Borderlinx or Vpost service.

Is a person's head worth only the value of an Arai or Shoei helmet ? :dot:

Come on....i'm sure it's worth more than that.

Sorry to correct you..

only goods/items that are S$400 or more (inclusive of shipping) is subjected to GST..

been importing a lot of 2nd hand bike parts from ebay and from online stores..

small orders not exceeding S$400 saves you GST, but considering 1 time order to save on shipping..

thumpertalk.com also offers alot of accessories..

motostrano also quite well stock but their customer service and after sales not that good as thumpertalk...

buying from ebay is more secure..

Yes...its worth more than that. But does your head stand a chance in a head on collision at 80km/h with a chiong helmet? So what do you suggest to protect your head from any collision, be it at high speed or slow speed? I'm sure many here would like to know if there is such a protection.

Anyway its a figure of speech that people always use. Quality vs Price.

Agree with biting_point. Been getting my stuff from US and keeping under S$400 to avoid GST.
