Went riding to Tanjung Piai yesterday...it was an excellent ride and a fantastic destination!

Read all about it in my blog...partially reproduced here...

There is something special about riding a motorcycle. The sound of the engine as you twist the throttle…the feeling of the wind rushing onto your chest as you accelerate…the magnificent views offered by the West Malaysian countryside…and the fantastic twists and turns of the farm roads all combine to create an intoxicating cocktail of mind-boggling fun! Yes…there is DEFINITELY something special about riding a motorcycle…and even more so when riding in West Malaysia! Which is why I found myself riding into Johor (the southern most state in the West Malaysia peninsular) for second time in two days!

Today I went riding with Ah Cai in the morning and quickly cleared the Tuas Checkpoint. It was a huge contrast with the day before as I was stuck in a long tail back at the Woodlands Checkpoint! All the more important to choose the right timing for getting into Johor! I stopped somewhere along the bridge so I could show you how the weather was like.

As you can see…the weather was perfect! It was blue skies with some clouds far away on the horizon. The sun was up and beating down on us by this time of the morning. Not a big problem for me since I had my gear on…but Ah Cai had to take some special measures after having his arms burnt on yesterday’s ride to Kota Tinggi.

We headed for the checkpoint on the Malaysia side soon after he put on his jacket. The procedure was a breeze and I was out in just a minute. However, Ah Cai was having a harder time with his passport having less than a month of validity. The good news was that he finally cleared after 10-15 minutes and we set off on our way!

I really did not like riding on highways. I am not a fan of long, straight and wide roads. What is the fun of riding on roads like that!?? So, as usual, I turned off the highway as quickly as I could. In this case, the first exit that could connect with Pontian was the Gelang Patah exit…

Please view the rest here. Tough to cut and paste and redo all the photo links. Thanks.
