Thanks for sharing! Was no good when took over the bike but after spending few $Ks, I feel much safer to ride now. Just went to tony couple of days back to replace gaskets and other stuff which end up another few hundreds. The next thing that worries me is the belt but somehow, think yours is a good idea. Get a spare belt from ebay.

no problems mate...

i oso spend quite alot on my 1200C when i got the bike, thanks to the HD Agent...

Think I can do better mechanical work than them just that all my tool measurement are giving me a big headache...

got to change ...omg

Any way, the belt just get a new one on Ebay then change it out & keep the old one as spare...

If crap happen, juz be struck without a bike for a day most....

Fully agreed with you. HD agents are the 'best' mechanic! Same happen to me too! Spend some money and nothing done!

btw, for battery is it advisable to use back harley battery or any other alternatives?

Thanks!

Thumbs up mate!!!

U are right!!!...lol

Well ori is always the best with regards to electrical stuff...

now is to see the ohms on the "non stock battery"

I still doing research on it though...lol

but heard tat non stock battery will make the stator coil & rectificer lifespan shorter...

As long as the specs are the same; ie: dimension, ohms etc....

I be more than glad to use the non stock (ard 150 to 160)as it cost at least $100 cheaper than stock HD battery ($260+)

just curious, yr head light diameter is hw much...?

isit 18cm?

any idea....?

Cheers!!!

Well shops that sell Harleys other than agent....

Sunhog

Sunbrust

Sumsoon

Try online it will be better...

Fianancing can try Hitachi Capital or Bike Production

Best rates Hitachi Capital...

I have no qualms on 883 or 1200....

883 can bore to a 1200 (similar in performance; of course a 1200 win hand down)

pay a 883 insurance & roadtax...

so more worth...

Depends mate.....

I on a 96 1200C

so far ook lah...

did many customising of my own...lol

No regrets....

Do u go touring often?

Do U like to drag around with yr ride?

Any previous cl2 riding experience?

If answer is yes to all, pls get a 1200

If answer is no to qns2 or 3, pls get a 883 as a stepping stone...

Well if u are like me, confirm won't upgrade to a big twin, then get a 1200...

Sportster are good customising base for any projects...

i'm new too HD but find it fairly easy to maintain...

std wear & tear parts, just like the jap... although the life span of parts seems shorter...

the real killer is actually the customize parts... those will cost u a bomb...

and worst of all, it never ends...

SORRY FOR DOUBLE POST...

I'm more than willing to do a trade with any 96 onwards Sporty for the

Chrome engine casings & Belt guard.

I'm a matt & lazy guy....

Anyone willing to trade with me?

Stock matt grey or matt black (strongly pref though ...lol)

Value of chrome engine casing only from HD agent is valued at $2.5k (gt a shock...lol)

All my chrome are still good less the left side engine casing gt a small area which is tranish.... (above the big round Harley Davidson logo)

Simple do a trade...

Potential "buyer" pay the labours charges of est $80 to $120 per bike so total is $160 to $240 for both bikes

Potential "buyer" buy the gaskets needed for the change $50 per bike from HD agent so total is $100 for both bikes

Potential "buyer" will need to change his own oil & engine casing lubricantion

est $45.30 (HD Mineral Oil) + $20 (HD Engine casing Lub)

I will provide my own oils for my own ride to cut his cost. Labour to change oil, potential buyer will pay est $25 to $35

It is quite a good deal I think unless someone beg to differ (total amount up to $325.30 to $405.30)

Potential "Buyer" can buy from me....

Chrome Rear Pulley Cover (like new) $50

Chrome Meter Holder 91 to 03 Sporty (like new) $50

Potential "Buyer" has to trade with me the Chrome battery cover for a stock black at just $25

If potential "buyer" buy & trade all....

total amount He or She need to fork out for both bikes will be from $450.30 to $530.30

Anyone interested do call, sms or pm me...

Steven @ 96284016

We can further discuss again...

Cheers!!!

This i'm nt very sure as I nv ridden on a king b4...

I can try to help but limited...

Do explain more with regards to sometimes can't??

there could be due to wiring or the knob being old being faulty...

Just a quick question to harley owners, do your front brake reservoir's rubber seal constantly wet with hydraulic fluid?

Coz mine seems to be leaking and when i sent back to HD, they cant find any fault and said normal.
