Why are all the bikes so expensive now?

I used to own a Goldwing 1500SE back in 1996 and a new Fatboy. I sold my Goldwing to a friend for $6k and my Fatboy for $23k. I got a 1 yr old Royalstar for $13k and sold it for $10k a year later.

 

I am living in the US now, and I have a 1981 sportster, a 1976 Softtail and a 2004 VRod. I now travel back to Singapore quite often, and really want to get back into riding again, but the prices of bikes seemed a little unreal. I found a Goldwing GL1500SE for $12k?? WTF, its freakin' 18 years old?

 

Anyway, does anyone know much about importing bikes? I am leaving Singapore tomorrow again to go back to US and my buddy is selling his 2009 Screaming Eagle Roadking for US$20k with a fat rear, and I was wondering if the import process is hard and expensive?

 

Anyone knows any rules about importing Vintage bikes too? After getting my sportster, I actually have been collecting spare Harley bikes and frames, and I have enough to make several Bikes now, and they only cost about US$4000 and they will be in perfect running condition. I can easily ship one done up 1979 - 1981 Sportster, and it will arrive in Singapore for about US$4k - US$5.5k (not sure about customs and other costs)

 

I would love to ride in Singapore again, but since I am unwilling to pay the prices today, can anyone advice me about importing my bikes to Singapore?
