Overhauled Honda nsr sp

Hi guys i bought a overhauled honda sp bike and wish to ask some questions as i am new to all this. On the day i fork out the bike, the shop man said that once u reached 500 clicks bring back to the garage to change the gear oil. And i cannot go more than 100Km/h. So after 500 clicks i brought back to the shop and changed the gear oil and stuff. And now the guy said u still cannot go more than 100km/h and said wait for another 500 clicks to go more than 100km/h. i was like WTH? He said the piston must get used to it..I mean like come on la how to travel below 100km/h on the express way sia? But during the 1st 500 clicks i travel like 120km/h as i cannot tahan to go slow. So am i damaging the piston or something pls tell me guys? and wat the guy is saying is it true or wat? i am kinda newbie so i need advice from the Honda SP riders! Thanks

Probably you can, but not too fast too. My friend just had his piston changed last night. And he was traveling at 100-110 too. So yea, try not to whack your bike till its fully run in?

new bike also need to run in. althou u cannot wait to go faster. but if u wana take care ur bike den u need to listen to ur mech to run-in. btw TS, expressway y cannot travel below 100km/hr? u think u racer ah when u jus passed?

Now i always maintain my speed to 95km/h or most is 110km/h with RPM 7/8 till my 1000 clicks. Is it ok?? Now my clicks is 830 liao. hahaha 200 more clicks and i can go above 100km/h already. LOL..So after my 1000 clicks means i finish run-in already rite??

maybe. have to see what the mech says. if you got the extra cash and if you bth just whack only. best to do block porting and piston porting for better response.

If i am in ur shoe right now, I already whack the bike. That 100km/h thing is just a guideline - no need to follow so strictly. Besides, u already run 800km+... so scare for what. As long u dun whack until 150-60km/h lah.. be realistic.. 110/120kmh once in a while shd b ok.

After 1000km, go back to ur shop and change the engine oil. By right, should finish run-in already. Once finish run in, can ride as per normal. If you really scare, go back to dat workshop and confirm with them.

just whack ah. you need your piston rings to seat in properly. soft running in won't help!

Agreed. Whacking once in awhile is okay. Especially infront of a place with many pretty girls.

Never be like those IDIOTS who whack everywhere and everytime then can.
