Honda rebel 125 mod/maintainence

hi all, I just got a Honda rebel 125 and Im trying to look for a workshop that can do service and maintainence for this bike.. I've been going around and it seems alot of workshop are unable to do this bike.. please advice..

 

btw, I plan to do some mods to it for eg:

1.white wall tires

2.chrome/white colour wheels

3.matt black paint work

4.change of front/back fender

5.drag handle bar - done RM70 (scrambler handlebar)

6.saddle bags

7.pillon backrest - done RM15

8.rider's foot rest done RM 15

 

where do you think I should go for all these?

btw, if anybody selling any of the above, please quote me

update: just to let others know, after doing some servicing here and there, I found out that this bike is using the same Clutch plate as a Honda EX5.. I bought mine at FJT for $40.. but when I went to JB to fix it, my mechanic told me that its the same as EX5.. kena rip off... the best set of clutch plate there for sale is RM40, labour should cost another RM5-RM10...

Tires are the same size as Phantom. Can ask the Phantom Knights where they get their whitewalls. What kinda fenders are you looking for? I used to ride this bike, love it

looking for standard ones, the paint oredi peeling, unless during paintwork they can scrap of the old paint..

They can. Most paint shop will strip the old paint and spray.

 

Actually every bike shop should know how to service this bike. Engine parts are still easily avail. Accessories wise like I mentioned you can ask the Phantom guys, plenty if affordable Thai made stuff. Just make sure you don't pay too much for them

I just came back from a tiring trip at JB.. no bike shop could do a job on my bike.. Couldnt find any drag bars.. ended up buying a scrambler's handle bar for RM70.. was not bad.. I just remove the sponge in the middle.. I wanted a shop that could atleast take a look at my bikes health, but non of them knew how to.. only a handfull said they can, but they dont have parts for my bike..

If iam not wrong, the rebel plate no is 399? If so. Preserve the seat. Cant find much at the market. Haha.

preserve the seat? what do you mean? I just did a wrap for it.. yellow stripe in the middle and the rest is black.. will want to do paintwork as well when have enough cash ... previous owner sprayed the engine and now its all bubbly, not very good.. and my front fender paint is peeling off..

my lights keep on f-ing up.. I sent to shop, they replaced bulb, but now problem still persist.. my head light keep on turning on and off by itself... justnow I cant start the bike, had to push start.. lucky I know how to push, if not i wont see my pillow for the night...

sounds like the wires r in bad shape. wen it comes to bike electricals many mechs not dat good.

hi guys, im back with a lil update...

Recently I did a full top engine service in JB.. bought all the parts from FJT and the mech at jb charged me RM500 for the servicing plus removing stupid paint on my engine chasis. On top of that, he did some polishing.

 

Here is the thing, I bought a new air filter with FJT. After riding for 1 week with the new filter, I reallised that my FC went up. from 27km/l to 20km/l.. I took it back to the mech to get it inspected and found out that it didt fit. how was that possible? FJt supplied me with wrong parts? Anyways, while he was checking on the filter, he did some revving of the bike w/o filter.. It sounded awesome. Fierce. I told him to just put that filter one side and let me ride the bike w/o filter. Power went up, top speed went up. The weird part was, my fc got to 30km/l which the mech told me that if I ride with no filter, Ill use up more petrol.. well, not true for this bike.

btw, Im looking for a bigger tank that can fit this bike.. anyone any ideas? anywhere?

It's hard to find a straight fit tank that will fit. If you remember Honda NV400? that tank might look good on a Rebel.

hmm... currently to many ideas, but the pockets limits everything.. so im doing some things DIY..

 

Im thinking of spraying this current tank matt black. Just over spray. But I dont want to loose out the sticker which I think is hard to find now.

Honda Rebel is a nice bike to mod,with its double exhaust both sides...met a fellow biker with ape hangers on his Rebel...

my rebel giving me some problems now, its starting to drink up engine oil and my relay fuse keep on fusing. Damn this thing.. I just did full service on my top block not more than 6 months back, and now all this.. headache.. Was told that, I have to get my piston changed to a bigger size. And that would mean I have to open up the top block again which will cost $$$$

I f i am not mistaken alot of engine parts as same as the honda custom. Check fuses if there are electrical problems. I had this bike like 10 yrs agao fuss free motoring than but i guess age catches up la.

When your fuses blow, it could be one of the exposed live wires is touching any metal part of the bike. Trace your wire loom, I am sure you can find the offending wire.
