Hi guys,

Anyone has any experience with this 2 stroker, eg. maintenance, FC, etc. As i reserch that the specs a little diff with an rs, so thought...I saw this machine( 2 of them ) at mah recently which caught my eye as looking for a decent naked 2B bike.

So if anyone... kindly post here for reference... instead of me asking or searching those long pages for a single info in the aprilia riders thread.

The Tuono is basically a naked RS.

I've written about owning an RS here:

http://singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=286034

I'm sure other RS owners get their bike done up differently, so cost may vary.

Hope it helps you :)

Yeah, it does helps.. thanks bro!

Btw, how much possible to attain 24Km/L on this bike easily? If mostly highways possible, and will it caused valve problem in the long run?

Make the mixture leaner. If it's too lean, you will have to rebuild the engine sooner rather than later. Too rich and you'll lose power.

There will always be carbon build up on the powervalve. Best way to slow that down is by revving the bike high and hard once it's warmed up. Keeping the bike at low RPMs will give you better fuel consumption but you will end up with more carbon. It's either or, but I think that you're going to save more by not redlining the bike and getting your valve cleaned every month. You're still going to have to whack it once in a while still though, the engine is meant to take that sort of punishment :)

Yo bro, that seems very logical in your explanation. Thanks!

Last question. Is it fairely easy to dismantle and clean the valve myself if I wanted every month or so? Had experience cleaning of carb only. Honestly speaking if really had to service the bike like every 3000km with all that general cleaning of carb, valve, oil change etc @ around $150 seems very exp, or even more exp than servicing a jap car imho( every 10,000km @

It's pretty simple, providing you're willing to go through the trouble of removing the fairing and whatnot. Done it once, and because I don't really have the time anymore, I get it done at a workshop.

It's not really that expensive if you just do your standard servicing; changing the oil, topping up your 2T and coolant. I change the brake pads and get the brakes serviced too. The brake pads can cost a considerable amount (~$70 for the good ones), depending on which ones you use. And yes, I'm just being kiasu :D
