Is there any shorter route from Tasik Kenyir (near T156) to Cameron Highland?

The only route I can see from Google is going North to Jerteh, then Machang and then follow road number 8 to Gua Musang and finally CH.

That's about 386km.

2017

11 - 25 Nov - 15D, Taiwan - Fly and Scoot

2018

7 - 15 Apr - 9D, Phuket and Hatyai Songkran

17 Nov to 2 Dec - 16D, North East Thailand (Issan)

2019

30 Mar to 7 Apr - 9D Korea/Jeju Fly and Ride

8 - 24 Nov - 16D, Mae Hong Son

I don't think so, But last month I did Kota Bahru > Gerik > KK > CH, it's a longer route but less traffic, good view, and you can go at a higher speed.

Last I went via GMS, there were lots of huge lorries with timber.

Hardly an issue - No 8 through Gua Musang is one of Malaysia's better roads. The Gerik Highway hogs all the limelight but I'm of the opinion that No 8 through to the turnoff to Frasier is a brilliant road.

Just noticed from Google Maps that there is a possible route connecting Gua Musang to T156 in Tasik Kenyir.

Any kind rider passing the area could give it a try and feedback please.

Not sure the condition of the road but looks ok at least for dual-sports.

LATEST NEWS

Did the route T156 yesterday 9th August 2010.

Started from Lake Kenyir Spa & Resort....travelled about 60km and the roads were fine and good. Only occasionally small pot holes along the way. Very scenic and nice and cooling.

After that, there were scattered pot holes and roads under repair for an estimated 20km or so....however, no issue on off road riding.....just have to go a little slow....

I give the thumbs up for taking the route T156...however, the sign board along the way reads....Road not officially open...travel at your own risk (just do it, no problem)

Total distance is around 120km to Gua Musang :thumb:
