anybody know the downpayment? if buy new one, but wishing to buy a second hand to ride it for 1 year plus to 2 years.

New one difficult to find for KR, for SP, it's impossible. But for KR, MAYBE still have. If you buy new one, your insurance need to be at least 2nd party, which is roughly near to 2k for a p-plater below 21 years old. The 3rd party itself cost about $1200-$1300.

 

Downpayment? At least need to clear your insurance payment, for some shops.Most shops, u need to clear your insurance plus about 500-1k downpayment.

Check out the garage sales section for a second hand bike. Personally, I would say get the KR even though the insurance costs more. It rides better than the SP.

the last kr was made in 2006...all old stock... at woodlands there got 1st hand...very long inside shop u cn get it if u wan but price around 6k without insurance:angel:

Buy a cheap 2nd hand kr, then keep aside around $700 and go for full overhaul. You might also have enough leftover to do up the bike's outlook as well. Better option then buying a 1st hand kr.

my $1200 package includes changing new con rod, new carb, basically everything inside new and $1200 did not include my porting fees.

be careful leh, i rode a sp last time, my insurance was 888$. the sp was very problematic due to it being an old and popular bike.

 

i dont think there are any new sp around, but KR i have seen quite a few new ones. new as in 1-2 years old only.

 

if you really like 2b sports bike, you can consider the yamaha r15? they are quite new.

 

as for KR or SP being better, i think it is subjective and up to individual.
