Hey.. my boy is 10mths old tomorrow.. 28th!!!

 

After you purchase the Strom from Loois, you will given a choice of servicing.

You can either service at Loois(First 3 times free) or at Suzuki agent(First 2 times free). Anyway, Loois has been servicing Stroms since they first launch so should be quite capable.

 

Cameltoe, James.. so when you all getting the Strom? Can wait to parade our bikes together..

 

Maybe we could organise trips to malaysia too..

 

For those who can make it.. I will be joing the Cruzer Fest on 5 June 2004..

Till now, 58 bikes will be there..

melvinho, dun make me gian leh. cl2 lesson3 this sat niah. even if pass also must wait about a month for tp leh. haiz.

 

when pass will get a silver 1000cc and fit 2 givi keyless side boxes + a givi maxia 52 top box with matching silver covers. wat u think? chio ornot?

 

the only prob is i gotta change the seat with u cos i'm not tall enough. otherwise must cut the seat to make it lower liao.

 

by the way, i saw a blue 1000ccStrom fitted with a "metallic" squarish top box. does it belong to anyone here?

I believe that you can get the bike right after you pass the licence... yuo may wanna check...

 

Melvin... As I've PMed you... I have decided to drop the idea of the 650 and should be going for the TDM 850 that his guy edward is selling. incidently he is also from this forum...

I have bought the black V-strom everybody have been talking about from Looi. Got a great deal as I believe it is probably his last black unit. Kong say that he still have a blue and silve unit available.

 

Fitted a Givi crashbar to it and waiting for my centre stand from Chan. Will probably be on the road next week or the week after.

 

We have already sort of formed a small V-stromer club in Singapore with 3 K4 1000 and 1 K4 659 ( Mr. Melvin HO ). Will be meeting up soon. If you guys would like to come, will keep you posted. Probably will meet up in Changi Point or KFC ( Mel's favourite hangout..... something to do with fried chickens, I think ).

How much you paid for the crash bar and centre stand?

Paid $19K for the bike on the road including the centre stand. I believe that stand should have costed Looi at least $220 as Chan has indicated that the HB stand would cost $260 inclusive installation. Chan is supplying the stand to Looi but the stock has yet to arrive. Hope that when I get the bike next week, it would be !

 

The Givi crash bars cost me $170 from Chiap Lee. You got to be careful dealing with them. They started off with a $240 price tag. Luckily I was tipped off by Looi that I should not pay more than $170 for them. I offerred $170 and they readily accepted the amount. Sure pays to have contacts and infor !

 

Currently riding a 98 AT with Touratech tank, bars, fuel level sensor, panniers etc. Know anybody looking for such a bike ? Will let her go for $10K .

So you are the guy...saw your bike on the workshop level on Sat. It was w/o plate yet. Think the mechs are preparing your bike. The givi tag on the crash bar seems to be coming off. ( I noticed) Looks great and macho. And really sleek in all black.

I got the SW Motech guard for $238.. and I have to fix myself..

Heard from the forum that Givi Guard offers more protection..

Too bad they dun have the guard for my 650.. so have to settle for the Motech.

 

Guess I'm the one 650 here.. when we meet.. dun ride too fast.. I may not be able to catch up.. I'm afraid of speed.. safety first for me.

So are you gonna install the side panniers? Going for Givi or HB?

Try out the windscreen. I find it too short for my height(1.83)

We can order a taller screen together to save shipping cost.

Peter can also order parts from Euro for us.

Hi Mel,

 

You are right about the Givi, it seems to be better rated that the Motech. My previous guard on the AT was a Givi and it is good . Had to change it to the Touratech because I installed their plastic tank.

 

Glad to hear that we got more V-stromers together. Wonder if Dragster is DannyBoy from the V-strom forum. He was asking me about my ideas of Dirty Harry. Never had a good impression of him. Heard lots of horror stories.

 

No worries about speed in Singapore. I am slow rider myself. I am more for the torque and pickup of the bike rather top speed.

 

I am definitely going for the Givi panniers. Would install the rack so that I can swap my AT panniers around. They are the small 19 litre side boxes. Not too wide so that I can still squeeze in between traffic when needed to.

 

Okay, let wait to the end of the week.

Been running up and down Loois to pester Mr Lee these days for a Strom.

I guess the unit that i have been drooling at, now belongs to cbx750.

cbx750 i noted that you had purchased it at 19K OTR which includes a centrestand?

Damm!.. why didnt he offer me that!!!! He had actually quoted me 19.5K OTR...

Someone help me out here.. i wan my strom.. but im seeing very different prices... moreover i had bought my current bike from him...

hahaha..yeah i heard about this from MR Lee(twice) he seems to have a habit of repeating stories/incidents.

fancy ripping customers of this way..

Have to see the condition of the bike to tell. But if everything is ok, 12K is a good price. Btw, how old r u? I want to see what age group does the strom attracts..

Buy first.. regret later.. but so far.. no one has regreted getting a strom.. so no worries man!
