Have to see the condition of the bike to tell. But if everything is ok, 12K is a good price. Btw, how old r u? I want to see what age group does the strom attracts..

Buy first.. regret later.. but so far.. no one has regreted getting a strom.. so no worries man!

Jus wondering if anyone has seened the new VS look-alike Kawa KLV 1000. Any different from VS? Which will be a better choice in terms of reliability and maintenance?

 

I have been all time Honda fan but would like to 'try' a new brand.... :cheer:

ya..i think so...but the new VS has adjusted windshield and linked hand guard too (like GS)....

 

wondering if there are any difference in terms of performance and power...been hearing good reviews on kawa bikes..

I do not thionk there is much(or any) difference between a DL and a KLV probably only a badge and colour diff.. thats about it.. well if you know.. Suzuki and Kawasaki has shared RND for some of thier bikes... take a look at the ZX10R and the GSXR000 K3/4 ... they all have simillar things...

Yup... the only difference is the colour... some people thinks that orange will go faster..

 

Even the logo on the engine is showing as Suzuki. The Kawa version will have some sort of sticker to cover that.

 

Difference between K3 and K4 is:

1) Wrap around handguard - provide more protection if the bike drops

2) Instrumentation cluster - provides better view and nicer too

3) Adjustable windscreen - provides 3 positions but I think still too short for riders like me (1.83m) - will consider to get a taller and wider screen

 

Extra lack of stuff : 650 do not have helmet lock, just 2 cable for you to hook underneath the seat

650 do not have the handguards

 

Fuel consumption for mine using Caltex 97

Full tank 22 litres = 400+- Km

19Km per litre

I got my COE !

 

Good news from Looi that I got the COE at 1001 ! Never thought that they will bid so high ! When the results came out I thought that I would have to wait for the next round. Guess Lee did not expect the price to go up so high ! He pegged the COE bid at 1500 ! Looks like he is going to make less this deal

 

 

Handed in my IC today and will be collecting my bike probably on Monday or so !

 

Lee also mentioned that the Silver unit has been sold and will be registered together with mine. Anyone here bought that bike ?

I am collecting my bike on Friday 18 June 2004. Looi is registering the bike on 17 June 04 . Will ride up with my AT chum to Kuantan on Saturday while running in the bike. Will be looking forward to the ride ! Should be very nice !

 

Anyone interested in a 1998 AT with lots of accesories including a 43 litre Polyamid tank ? Hate to let her go but keeping two bikes might be too big a chunk for me to chew !

Very honoured to be in the midst of the Vstroms hehehe Like I am the rebel or thorn among them It was great riding with you guys. Early morning there were 9 Vstroms, 3 had their own plans and was left with 6 at the end of the ride. It was really a sight seeing all the Vstroms taking the long sweeping corner in one line, almost scraping the footpegs Very impressive Hope next time I wun be the only TDM there. Melvin, we got to organise a joint ride man. Target Min 6 VStroms and 6 TDMs. That would be fantastic

Hi guys, i was about to start a new topic for dl650, when i found this one here.

 

I'm considering of getting a dl650, but it seems to me from one of mel's reviews tat its rather under powered during 2 up riding. i pillion my gfren alot, so this could be a problem for me and also the exhuast getting hot under the pillion seat thingy.

 

Hmm... Melvin how much does the rd tax and monthly or every 5000km maintanence going cost you?

 

How is the insurance, rd tax and maintainence cost comparing to dl1000?

 

Sorry, so much questions in one msg, just need some advise and assurance before making the big choice

Mel is tall and i would say heavy(not fat)

i dunno about his wife.. but in other parts of the world the 650 is rather popular, bearing in mind that they are naturally bigger in size then us asians.

 

for 3K more to get the extra torque, handguards, bellypan, and hydralic clutch. Y not?

 

You might want to consider FZ1's bike.. seems like its been acc with the needed items already.
