hi...i was wondering any of e DL1000 owners experienced a 'knock' sound at idle?

Hi,

I have the knocking sound on my machine, but its harmless.

Its what we would call "idle hammer"

you may want to do a search here http://11109.rapidforum.com/ (use the search function)for it.

BTW, most of us here communicate there.

when i got mine from looi's 2 months back, they're the only one to stock up on the strom. u may enquire from guan hoe (suzuki agent), but i think it is a good move to buy it from looi's as meng tong is the man for the bike!

only God may judge me!

What James said is true, its best that you get the bike from Loois, need not worry about aftersales, and the price is always a fair deal, personally bought 2 bikes from them, no issue of any sort at all. infact handful of us actually bought our VS from there.

anyone here experience some 'knocking' or 'jerking' of bike at 2500 to 3500 rpm? will replacing of the clutch basket (gear assembly) resolve this problem?

is yours a new or old VS?

Maybe you can give us alittle more detail of when the jerking or knocking happens?

Mine's a k2. Say you are accelerating thru the rpm range of 2500 to 3500, the bike jerks like as if its out of petrol or you are using a wrong gear, e.g. high gear for low speed. hope its clearer now :cheeky:

Yeah, that sounds like the clutch basket problem, you may want to learn more from our bike specific forum.

Unlikely you will find the fender here in Singapore. Most prob u will have to order the parts from overseas. Can check with Looi's for info.

As requested by one of the members here, below is the info for dent removal -

Ah Yew is the guy who knocks the dents out. he does not have his own shop nor will he remove your fuel tank. Charges about $40 to $50, depending on difficulty. Address - blk 4035 amk ind pk 1 #01-53 (metal workshop which he shares)

there is a bike shop along the same row that will remove your tank for $15 for Ah Yew to fix. Address - blk 4035 amk ind pk 1 #01-39

time taken to remove dent is 30mins. time taken to remove and replace tank is 1hr.
