After KOFO 2010 in Jun @ Singapore, this round we're heading to the Durian Plantation in Malaysia for a durian feast.

  • Pre-ride briefing and move off at 9.30am SHARP
  • North-bound Machap R&R (Grp 1 - Refuel & short break; Grp 2 - Optional)
  • Exit to Durian Plantation
  • South-bound Machap R&R (Refuel & short break)
  • Proceed for Orang-Asli makan place for dinner (optional)
  • Return Singapore est. around late afternoon/evening

- Raincoat or water proof jackets

- Long pant (min jeans)

- NO SLIPPERS please. SHOES is a MUST for your own Safety

- Cash Card (Pay Toll fee at 2nd Link) & Touch n Go card (Pay Toll fee at M'sia Toll)

- RM $$$$$ for food & petrol

- Passport must be vaild for at least 6 months before expiry

 

If Possible:

 

- Full face helmets (recommended) (at least open face with visor)

no half cap helmet allowed,

- Gloves (protection)

- Spare spark plugs

- Spare Belt (for auto scooters)

- Spare key

- Please have your bike serviced at least one week before the event. Do a quick check on your bike the day before also.

- Enough engine oil,

- Tyre pressure,

- Brake Pad,

- Tyre Thread,

- All lightings are in working condition (Head Lamp,signal,brake,etc...),

- Horn functioning well.

 

Note : Your bike breaks down, the best I can do is call for tow truck and that will be at your cost.

- Spare tube if your tyre is not tubeless. But you gotta change yourself.

- GPS or phone with GPS

- Travel Insurance (You'll never know when you need this. Personally, I have one for my own coverage)

Convoy Riding

A convoy is a group of bikers traveling together for mutual support. Often, a convoy is organised with several appointed experienced bikers providing escort duties, utilising radio communication sets or pre-determine hand signal to coordinate and to escort the main body of bikers smoothly and safely to the intended destination.

Mutual Support

If the event a bike breaks down or gets stuck, the other bikes can assist with repairs or attempt to free the bogged-down bike. If repairs are not possible, the people from the broken-down bike can be transfer to others while arrangement made to tow the bike for repairs.

 

 

Convoy Main Body

The happy group of riders. Their role is to regulate their travel speed and stay in between the Pointer & Sweeper. When riding in a group you become a part of that convoy, and your actions affect more than just yourself, they affect all those riding around you also. So, be aware of what's going on around you at all times. Stay alert and keep an eye on the Pointer and those in front of you at all times.

Points to note

- Be punctual for the ride.

 

- Riding side-by-side, in a column of two's, is NOT SAFE. Ride in a staggered formation

- Main bodies reminded ;-

- Everyone should maintain a constant speed and distance from everyone else, without falling back and speeding up, to avoid the notorious "Slinky" effect

The S$12.00 is for the durian buffet excluding pack back. Packing back will be separately charge based on per kg.

Will this year's durian be better than last year's?

 

Seriously, the quality of the durians last year was extremely disappointing, though the whole trip is still quite enjoyable.

 

I may still be joining this year's trip, but will only confirm later after checking my schedule.:cheers:

This will be my first time organise such durian trip but i am a super durian lover. Just for your info, i had double confirm the quality of the durian and so far they had not disappointed me. Latest durian quality update was today :)

 

I am very confidence with the durian quality this round which worth more than $12 but paying only $12 *Those who had ever follow me to Cameroon highland for top quality durian will know my standard*.

 

If this one success, i might be arranging another one which is TOP quality durian but ofcourse the price might be higher.

 

Hopefully my post will help you clear your mind and i really hope to see your confirmation ASAP, cheers.

Seem like nowadays all going by package, we will add on another package which is early Orang-Asli seafood dinner.

really respect the efforts put into organizing this for everybody, i will have to pass due to prior commitments on the same day. feeling v sian abt the clash.

The Organising team for this year SBF Durian Plantation Ride had completed our recce trip on 16 Jun 10. We've confirmation on the premium quality durians we'll be having. :thumb::thumb::thumb:
