not that i wan to pour cold water... actually i was tricked to buy this oil by a fren... its rated 15W-50 la.. its ok for the bike... but our bikes are using the API rated SG... the total oil API is rate SJ... API SJ are suitable for catalytse engine lor.. and our bikes are not this type of engine... so its not good for our bikes... this is wat i heard from il4 lor... he's an expert in this line... so can ask him if u all got any queries.. he will be happy to ans ur qns...

 

 

I just want to make sure that is super 4 vtec 2 API rated SG ?

if you have the manual book refer to page 86. It stated something about SJ in the table. Please correct MI if i am wrong.

But will the extra 300ml of engine oil do much damage? now NSF leh :cry: , not much $, planning to change engine oil when mileage is 3k. now not even 1k yet...

Go and buy 3 bottles and bribg it to the shop then should cost less than $20. good deal right?

bro no need to change, will not damage your engine, it just increase your bike's weight only...

or you can loosen the nut below, and let the oil drain out abit, need not to change all and waste money..... just remember dont tight too hard or the tray might break...

This $4.30 Total oil comes in which viscosity rating? Is it always out of stock? :confused:

Me planning to get 4 bottles and change oil every 2000km; as most of my trip is start-stop city riding condition.

hi all,

i have something to ask those who have bought this total engine oil. Is the oil for motorcycle use. Because from what i know is that usually engine oil from motor car cannot be use for motorcycle. so can someone tell me whether the bottle written any thing that stated for motorcycle use? If it stated can be use then it is cheap like hell. BTW from my last article, here is the conclusion. Check up the manual for all super four user. if i am not wrong. because of different in the year of manufactoring it stated of different uses of API. vtec 2 uses API SJ.

In front of the bottle there is a logo of a racer and stated is a 4T and behind stated for modern high reving motorcycle does the info above look like a oil for a cars?

some one fro motoworld world told e total semi engine oil when in high temp will fail to protect e engine inside.. thus cosing damage to it..

anybody can tell more??? :smile:

WHich engine oil wont fail to protect the engine during high temp? The point is how high? If he cant tell u that or any example that TOTal had failed or someone who have cooling problem on his bike and just his luck that this oil is in the engine so he blamed on the oil.

 

If not I think it is a just a baseless conclusion and dont always heard my friends said hor...... that hor.......

I think we r old enough to tell things from right and wrong and one person say this oil bad but many have use it tell u is super value for money? :confused:

 

So u have to judge ur own.

Yup, so far Legan (Vtec) and I(ex-TA200, now Spec 2) had used Total $4.30 for dunno how long..also no prob.. hmm, lotsa cost go up becos of advertising in races ma!! and if everyone change their own oil and use Total...then motordiams lose a lot of income!!

het bros,i change to Total den my ver s got realli funny feeling..i don't think i'm paranoid but after i high rev and ride,the pistons like rubbing against each other..got 'zhing' sound and bike like going to stall...i realli think is the 4t leh..pls advise? :?

Sure a not? But no problem for mi and I bring it to 160km/h and at least let it spin to 12k rpm per week once and so far so good.

 

But how much is rs? Per littre?

Maybe change to see how it perform :smile:

There is fully syn and semi syn version of the oil.

But the one that is sold for $4.30 is semi syn.

Fully syn can get @ about $10.

Shops dun think can get that price......
