anybody know how much a brand new CBR600RR and a GSXR600k4 costs on the road? my fren is considering getting a CBR600RR or a GSXR600K4

I am thinking of getting a FP/FQ Shadow. I thought the market price should be ard plus minus $4k depending on condition. Called a mototiam and was quoted $6.8k!!!! for a FQ.

 

Since all are seasoned bikers here and frequent bike shop, would you guys be able to help me keep a look out from mototiams or friends.

FU plate for 4k is really very expensive...but since you said its from asphoon liao...which mean its a motordiam...then i am not surprise...FU plate usually sell around 3.5k...unless 4k is OTR price...which mean everything included...example insurance and road tax

I'm no expert in used bike price but I frequent Yahoo's and Strait Times classifised ads and perhaps can contribute a little knowledge and findings to the topic.

 

In general (very general, not specific), an 5 year old bike is worth about 45% of its new price (including COE), a 10 year bike is about 12 to 18% of its new price. However, please note that popular and common model like Honda superfour, has very good resale value, so its resale value is higher than what I mentioned above, i.e. a 5 year old superfour may fetch up to 50% of its new price, provided the condition is good and accient free.

 

And generally speaking, scooters has lower resale value (those scooters owners out there, please don't get offended as I am saying generally). A 5 year old scooter is about 40% of its new price and 10 year old may be only fetching 8% of its new.

 

Generally dealers change about 15 to 20% more than owners, but dealers normally done up the bikes, also dealers give installments and do the paper work for you. If you have cash, it is better to buy direct from owners, believe me, you can get good value for your money and the paper work is very easy. Just go to LTA with your insurance and IC and everything is done in a few minutes.
