1) to get the pillon seat cover so can make it look single seater

Brand new Viffer comes with the original pillion seat cover. Mine is collecting dust inside the store room cos I pillion wifey very often.

2) original side panniers

You can order it online or you can try Boon Siew (unlikely) or Motoworld. If not, the alternative is the Givi V35 system.

3) good tyres for this type of bike

Recommended are the Michelin Pilot Road 2 or the Bridgestone BT021. The VFR is heavier than normal sportbikes so you need harder centre compound for better mileage.

4) a shop that does stickers to cover some scratches on bottom side of ferring

Mentioned by sino, 219shop or Auntie shop at Lavender.

FC about 22L...hope it helps...

Bro, I bought my VFR new at 21K OTR from De Xing. But I'm a 34 yr old geezer so my insurance cheaper.

2nd hand VFRs are not exactly cheap cos there is holding value in VFR or most Honda bikes cos the engine's bulletproof and the build quality is excellent.

Anyway, you can expect 15-17 km/l or about 340-360 km of tank range.

Damnzz... :) How on earth can you guys get such good FC of 22L (I guess sino is referring to 22km/L of petrol??) and 15-17 km/l or about 340-360 km ??

I calculated the amount of petrol I pumped and the distance shown on my ride.

I averaged about 13 - 14 km/l of petrol... Hardly can hit 14km/l, max I hit is around 13.8something km/l.

Any advice for a noobie to better my FC?? :)

Thanks in advance. :)

-> BT021 is :thumb: :thumb: ... I used it on my Fabulous-Joy-Ride (which is definitely much heavier than a viffer) before... Simply :thumb: ... Can even "cause friction to my left side foot-rest" when I was doing a left-side corning.

-> If want "harder" compound which is longer-lasting, can try Z6. Tried it on my previous ride, Fabulous-Joy-Ride (which is definitely much heavier than a viffer) too, damn long lasting... Changed new Z6, went up Hatyai, come back, the tyres looked like "no damage" done to it at all... haha...

Cheers and good luck to you getting your viffer soon... :)

easily reach :giddy: .... doesnt seems easy for me...

i avg 12-14km/l... max achieved when i went for a short touring (16+km/l).. i guess sometimes the petrol juz evaporated... coz when i pump petrol 2wks or more after my last pump the mileage is lower..

eh does this means to attain better mileage for a VFR we need to ride like ghost rider is it????:giddy: :giddy: :giddy: :giddy:

no wonder people are calling this bike Very Fast Ride. :dot: :dot:

this makes me scared to get this bike sia it either speed or bear petrol prices

On FC: Been riding a 5th gen for sometime and averaging 17km/L for a long time.

Its surprising that 6 genners are experiencing 12-15km/L. perhaps you guys want to prep yr bike for better fc viz:

1. Clean air-filter regularly.

2. Clean spark plugs or change as needed. Iridium improves FC.

3. Adjust yr change to the right tension. An over-tight chain sucks more fuel.

4. Lube yr chain regularly. I do mine at every fuel top up, or after riding thru rain or when the rollers starts to shine - this last rarely happens for me.

5. I use Mexxon F-21 fuel additive. It gives me 10% savings. Been using it for more than 10 yrs in all my vehicles. great stuff.

6. Accelerate gently and shift up as soon as you can.

Why worry about FC so much? Just ride like you stole it and enjoy the ride more...What's the point of riding below 160km/h just to keep the bike before the Vtec cuts in?If I am to think so much abt FC,I will never, ever get a class 2A,2 bikes.Just stick to public transports or class 2B.

Thats just my own opinions.

Past rides are already history....

I scared "Uncle Sam" hiding somewhere pointing "gun" at me lei... :p

I also average about 13km/l - 14+km/l on my Gen 6. Can never reach the 15~18km per litre mark...

Maybe that is why my FC is so lousy, cos me + the bike very very heavy, bike must "drink" more petrol in order to move... hahaha...

ahahaha yeah hor i think so lah iam also around 110kg like this confirm plus chop if i get a vfr the bike would want more petrol so can go

(act like a scientist talking) having seeing the fc of this bike or any of the other bikes that i know it seems that most people that are having problems with their fc is becos they are fat cause with the law of physics (acting smart but actually dumb ass) if an object moving forward without any change will actually consume less petrol if you are bigger and fatter and going on nsh then we would be better consumption cause less stress on the bike cause we a fat therefore we go faster ahahhahahahah ( i know this sounds dumb for me  ) just bear with me im bored in the offfice ahahhahahaha:pray:

Why worry about FC so much? .

The FC of a machine is a good indicator of the condition or state of tune of the machine. If there are no major modification, a significant level of consumption beyond the average tells one that not all is well. There is a good chance that fixing the problem would free up more hp for that burst when the urge arises.

In any case, we can enjoy our ride in more ways than increasing the burn rate - no?:p

Well,Yes and No.

i do agree on tat if you encounter more than average FC(maybe 50-100km drop in mileage),something is not wrong.but with a well maintain bike, one should not have any problems at all.unless you brought a real lemon which only selling will lighten yr burden.

I really nv count till what 14,15,16,17,18 km/l.When i gt the bike,I just top up to the brim of the tank and ride, take note of it when it hit reserve(+-300km)

Wah, Mr James, you can hit +- 300km when it hit reserve. :)

For my daily riding to and fro work, I can only manage to hit about 220km when the last bar "drop" into the "blinking" zone to signal reserve. Somemore it is including when I'm going down hill on the road at Prince George Park (PGP) at NUS, I always clutch in to let the bike roll down the slopy road. I thot it may save some petrol, does it?? heehee... :)

Is there something wrong with my ride then?? :)

i'm on a 6th gen. i'm equally surprised the other 6th gen is experiencing 12~15km/L. mine averages 15~17km/L quite consistently (usually in the 16km/L mark).

i'll suggest the rest look into item 1. to 4. as well. if the vfr averages 80~100km/h, high mileage isn't that difficult to achieve. if you are a consistent 60km/h rider, then this is the wrong bike for any good mileage. idling (getting stuck) in traffic, and stop/go riding = bad fuel consumption.
