Cost of ownership (2B)

hi,all,

 

i am going to take 2B test in a month, so plan to buy a 2nd hand sport bike after that. I need an idea of what is total cost of ownership of having such a bike.

 

Let's say for a 2nd hand 150cc honda/kawasaki sport bike,maybe 5-6 years old

Purchase cost: 2000-4000?

insurance: I am 29 years old and P plate, so how much? i want to take 3rd party insurance only if possible, because the bike itself doesn't have much value.

road tax:??need advise

home parking:free at home

ERP: Not really need to go town, assume 10/month

outside parking: assume 30 /month

maintenance: ??need advise

anything else to add on?

sgd30-40 for gas per 2 weeks? depends on how you use but just to be safe alot about 100per month.

sportsbikes... (maintenance part)

2-stroke about sgd10-24 per litre which lasts about 2 weeks? so about 50-60 per month.

4-stroke, no idea...but suppose to be less costly...

cashcard depends on use so keep alert and monitor with care...

carry a booklet of coupons coz sometimes you'll be parking somewhere where there's no gantry..booklet about $6.50

outside parking check online, there're lists of free parking for motorcycles islandwide so quite convenient.. also plan your route, it'll save you time and gas money.

will drive around 20km per day for work..no need to go out a lot so the parking thing is unimportant..

 

any idea about the insurance which concerns me the most.
