Hey guys, I am quite confused about the checking we need to do when we turn left or right at junctions.

For example, if we are turning Left at a junction, how should we check? Left-Right-Left? (Last one being a blind spot check for the turn. Then for turning right,Right-Left-Right? (Also the last one being a blind spot check for the turn)

Or should it be just check the side road for traffic, then blind spot. For example, if we are turning Left, we just check Right (the sideroad traffic), then Left (for blindspot).

Thanks!

Alrights, here's the thing.

1)For turning left at a junction, which is before you move off, check left side and right side then check your left blindspot before moving off.

2) For turning right at a junction, which is before you move off, check left side and then right side then check your right blindspot before moving off.

For both cases, it only applies when you are stopped at a junction where you are required to make a left/right turn when the traffic light turns green.

Hope these gives you a clearer picture of how the appropriate checks should be done at a junction for turning left/right.

Anybody care to remind me what are the three lessons for 2A

The 3 lessons for class 2A are CL2A 1.01, 2.01 and 3.01. After which, you can take up Revision Circuit (RC) lessons on your own account for as many as you want before you embark onto your Traffic Police test. :)

Thanks for your response. Hmm, but I was wondering if we check the left, then right, for both turns? Shouldn't it be:

Left turns: Check left (to see the place we are going), then check right (to check for vehicles that may be coming our way), lastly check left blindspot before turn.

Right turns: Check right (to see the place we are going), then check left (to check for vehicles that may be coming our way), lastly check right blindspot before turn.

Yupp. You are right in a sense..anyways, I have also doubled check with the instructor over at the driving centre regarding the appropriate checks for junction left turn and right turns. He advised to check the direction in which the car would come to you first. I.E to say if you are turning left at a junction, check right( car coming from right), then check left ( to see the place you are going), once safe and clear to move off, check left blindspot and move off. Hope these helps to clarify the doubt. :D

Anyways, I passed my Class 2A today with 6 pts! :cheeky:

What's That?! Never heard of such thing. You could check the earliest test date in the BBDC webpage. It would most likely be 2 months wait due to the new system where each test only compromises 28 students.

Attendance of 2B expressway riding doesn't guarantee you an early test date for your 2A. Somehow you still need to appeal from TP counter upon passing your 3.01. Its still subject to approval(>1 week) and slots availability. Imo, that's too much dings dangs, redtapes and hassle to dealt with.

Never in my life did the term "LPPL" hit me that hard in the face.

I felt cheated when i realised that. So its your choice to appeal or book a normal test date. I just went for the latter and saved myself from insanity.

you mentioned that the approval takes about 1 week (or more), and it's not guaranteed. moreover, how "early" is early, a couple of weeks?

and also, I think we cannot book the TP date and then try to appeal right? Cuz I remember TP dates cannot be changed, unless the TP themselves change it for you, if the appeal is approved?

So I kinda agree with Veil, it's too much ding dangs wala wala bing bangs to get a test date which could be disapproved and then really LPPL, the original date would have been pushed back.

So Veil, cleared your 2A? Share your encounters in the other thread!

Just failed my 2A. 36 points!!

Only 24 riders - Class 2 and 2A. 5 Testers with full view of everyone and up to only 4 riders on the course at any one time. Mine was a Thu test with the highest number of failures - more than 40% for class 2A and 30% for Class 2. The tests on Mon and Wed has the least failures. Wondering whether it is a weekly quota.

Got many points for wobbling, incorrect posture for starting/stopping/turning....that together was already cost me 20 points.

My view is that TP's first option is to find people to fail! Retest date is all the way in Nov!!!!!

So sad :((((

just try again...i think you are quite bothered by your 36 point TP that you wake up in 5am to note this down...no matter...good luck for your retry....

ya....they are putting very few candidate each time on the course...so that can slowly look at them...aim at them...

i took 8 mth back in bbdc..which already like that..

From Honda's Phantom to ..................

Clearing each stage at SSDC and BBDC for bike license was fun !!!

Do lots of RC bro. After I failed my first 2A, I went for about 15RCs before the retest? Don't be too eager to pass and buy a bigger bike. There is a reason you didn't pass first time round. If they faulted u so many times for wobbling and improper posture, it probably means that ur not used to the handling of bigger bikes yet.

Take your time learning, and enjoy the RCs. It's part of being safe.

Thanks guys. Agreed. I am a weekend rider and only ride occasionally during weekdays....I learn riding as I enjoy the open space. The feeling was a bit down because I thought I did well - couldn't sleep even though I didn't sleep well before the test. When I did my 2B last year, I thought I did badly but I passed first time.

Yeah, agree that better be safe than sorry. Something that I wish for all our riders in Singapore as well. Stay safe bros and hopefully I will do well second time in Nov.
