How i wish to join you guys but due to my shift work so i can't make it that night. Maybe next time round when i don't work night shift.

 

Does my cigar change it's character if i put different brand and vitola in a same humidor? Do they absorb each other flavour and change their own?

i sometimes marry my cigars ie. putting different brands and vitolas in the same humidor. Sometimes with a cedar wood in between , sometimes without.

 

Tastes and flavors dont really change but prelit aromas very likely will.

Nothing adverse so far.

 

I'm not surprise that keeping different cigars together in the same humidor for many many years may bring about some organic reactions and that the married cigars may exhibit cross traits and characters.

had a taste of entity's ryj short churchill during our last outing. for such a young cigar, there was certainly much complexity in it. great aging potential. i'll certainly age mine a while long b4 smokin it

haha... it took me a while to get it.

 

anyway, last nite at el sheikh was one of the windiest ever. not the best situation to be smokin a cigar man. burn was erratic, and each puff of smoke i blew out dissipated into the wind in a blink of an eye. couldnt say i really enjoyed my hoyo petit robusto.

 

maybe i'll be plannin to have one this sat, just to make up for it. haha...

just came back from europe. flew back via franckfurt and checked out their duty free walk in humidor... wah piang! prices damn cheap! 1 box choix supreme (25) S$308, series d no 4 S$280, siglo VI (box of 10) S$276 etc etc... see until mouth watering n hands itchy... but flying back to s'pore so did not buy.

 

read in this thread b4 that tax for 1 box is about S$105 right? if so pay tax still alot cheaper right? anyone can comfirm that tax again? if worth while i will buy back and pay tax the next trip! thanks!

anyway, i just bought a new humi and i'm having a lot of trouble getting the humidity up to 70%... air is simply too dry even though it's summer... i've wiped the humidor and put a shot glass of distilled water inside it for like 4 days already but still 62%... guess i should have followed my uncle's advice and got a daniel marshall or elie bleu instead of this cheap ebay alternative (think the draft gets in at night). haha... college student's budget is tight man...

recently got a couple Opus X cigars... perfecxion no.4s and belicosos... for the price, i'm better off with habanos (EL or even an esplendidos...) oh yah, has the ban on smoking in public places been fully enforced yet? hope to be able to smoke at conn d. and my favourite hotel lounges when i get back.

Tax for a box of Hermoso No. 4 (Choix Supreme) is about $100 becos the cigars weigh about 10 grams each. So 250g for a box. maximum carry allowed is 400grams.

 

Ritz and Intercon lounges already full ban, so no smoking. Other hotels also the same. ConD still ok...... Arab st. still ok..... Other places, have to smoke within a designated section
