just had a RYJ petit corona, this is the first cuban cigar that i ccouldn't finish it off... the burnt was very uneven, the ash was black color and got 'flowerly' effect, the taste was plain, 'pale' and not aroma at all... the flame went off three times, had to re-light it all the time, the draw was loose, smoke was less, what a bad bad bad cigar....

smoked half and got fedup, throw it away without finish it...

damn, i need to try some premium cigar to release my frustration man....

where did you smoke it??? take it easy man....

it's like that.

cigars are handmade so consistency and quality can be an issue.

especially so when many cigars lately are simply produced to meet market demands. try to find cigars in 2002 - 2003 batch. those were the better years.

top class quality.

yesterday i was too tired to smoke. slept like a baby.

Today have to go to the bank to sign some papers.

tonight, i'll do my hoyo again. yummy

just for your info, petit coronas in tubos are low range habanos.

in other words, low grade, mass market production.

if you want really good smokes, forget about them.

i'm doing a punch punch now sitting in my balcony playing internet.

hehh hehhe:smile: :thumb:

Hey,

Newbie here. New to motorbikes that is. Still taking my 2B but I've been smoking cigars for some time now. Stumbled into this thread while looking for a 2nd hand bike.

Seems like a nice group of people who love cigar smoking in here.

Will join you guys next time when there is a gathering. Cheers!

Naz bro,

No. 1 - stop inhaling cigar smoke for the sake of it!!!!! (not good)

:giddy:

No. 2 - Enjoy the taste and aroma in your mouth not lungs

Cigar smoking is like alcohol drinking...the more you smoke the more resilient you become. Especially for cigarette smokers who inhale, cigar smoke will become less and less choking after sometime. remember the first time you smoke cigarettes?

Also those cigars are light to medium in strength so for a cigarette smoker, may not be too hard.

how do you feel after inhaling the cigar smoke?

by inhaling you will totally lose the essence of cigar smoking which is to taste and smell the smoke.

best to differentiate cigarette smoking from cigar smoking.

It's like wife and girlfren.

Cigarette is wife and cigar is girlfren to you

For me I only have cigar as wife and no girlfren.

get the drift? heheh

heh..

not intentional laa..

but sometimes tarek tarek sekali tarek all the way into lungs :giddy: then later realise what I did..

Yeah, when tarek, somehow lost the 'feel' of it.. the muskiness of the smoke and all..

Cigarette and Cigar are my children.. gf is my wife..

ok now I'm drifting.. back to track Senor..

storing in cigar box is good becos of the wood lining environment keeping the scents and aroma in. but it is not airtight and can mess up the humidity slightly.

try to put in a travel humidifier to control the humidity.

keep in tupperware is good becos airtight but no goof becos plasticky smell may infect cigar aroma.

get a humidor lah..

Hi all,

I had an unbranded Nicaraguan puro last night. The air was damp cos it was raining the whole day but I just had to have a cigar.

The cigar was good only for the first half, then it went steadily downhill from there.

The taste was light wood, slightly tangy (reminded me of my only experience with Punch Punch Punch), and slightly nutty.

The burn was good and the ash was pure white, typical Nicaraguan tobacco style.

Throttle, you'll enjoy the Partagas Serie P No. 2 (Partagas is my favourite brand). Heard that from my friend. I've tried the Partagas Pyramides LE 2001 before and heard that they're quite similar.

Happy smoking!

Posted

The P2 has had very varying reviews since it is the newest and latest vitola of the PArtagas family. the ones i have are Mar05, very young.

it smells good so i hope it will taste as good.

The Partagas Piramides EL should be 2000 and not 2001 I believe.

I still have 5 of those in my humidor. top class.

either ways I'm quite sure i will enjoy it.

My selection for tonite is:-

Partagas P2

H. Upmann Mag 46

RYJ Ex No. 4

P2 review.

Dark clean wrapper comparable to an EL.

Prelit flavor and draw was perfect.

Cigar burns very evenly and ash is greyish black.

Instant coffee flovors run through the first third of the cigar with trails of woodiness. absolutely no spiciness no bitter taste. Coffee flavors turn chocolatey toards the middle and then leathery down to the end. The spiciness hits you around the last 2 inches and strength of the young cigar kicks in.

Overall a splendid smoke which prove to be smooth considering how young it is.

A must try. I rate 4*.
