Monte Joyitas are very small ring guage cigars like panatelas, but at $100 at box of 25, it is really cheap. I have never bot this in Singapore but I think the price for a box of Joyitas is about S$300 so even at US$100 a box of 25 it is still cheap.

very very very fishy. I rather skip cos anyway, small ring guage cigars are not my kind of smoke.

I can verify if I see the box and codes.

There can only be two reasons for selling so cheap:-

1. He got really sick of cigars and wants to get rid at super ultra rock bottom prices

2. They are fakes.

ring guage is the fatness of the cigar.

robusto is ring gauge 50 or 50/64 of an inch

corona is ring gauge 42

hermoso 4 is ring gauge 48

corona gorda is ring gauge 46

Piramide is ring gauge 52

generally speaking

for the joyita, ring gauge is only 26 or 28 if i rememebr correctly

Length can be short or long not necessarily dependant on ring gauge.

example Robusto is ring gauge 50 with length 5 inches

Double coronas is ring gauge 49 with length more than 7 inches

Lonsdale ring gauge 42 but length is longer than 6 inches

Corona ring gauge 42 but length is only slightly more than 5 inches.

There are specific sizes and names for those sizes accordingly.

I dont quite understand your question actually.

eh Naz you like Rui En??

hehh heh

anyway, back to more impt stuff. if the seller's really sick of cigars are really want to sell them at rock bottom prices and tat they're authentic, i dun mind gettin some too. havin a few backup 'fun' smokes also not bad... :cheeky: :cheeky:

err is it possible for a small ring gauge be similiar to a cigarillio?

errr yes yes... Rui En. :lovestruck:

But now I got one 'rui en' in my life liao.. so cannot find another similiar 'rui en'..

Kinda stick to somthing u said last time in the watch thread..cant remember exactly but it goes something like... " girlfriend expensive nevermind as long as good... one is more than enough" :thumb:

a cigarillo is the smallest gauge cigar. (so it is sometimes not even considered a cigar) a cigarillo usually has ring gauge of 8 to 10.

back to more important stuff, the seller clearly doesnt know the market price for the cigars becos he sounds like he doesnt know cigars at all.

if it is authentic, i wonder where it's from or who it's from.

but no matter where it's from, if it's authentic then it's underpriced.

The price is even cheaper than duty free in Switzerland !!!!!!!

No way Jose!

However, please note that Joyitas are very flat tasting although the scent is nice and clearly Monte.

Sev, contact the guy, we check the goods, then we'll know.

...edited... please pm me to discuss if you interested...

yes, i went to bangkok, you can bring cigar into bangkok, the custom wont tax you.

however, if you bring back to singapore, you will be taxed.

you can get box of 3 of partagas series D no 4, or some single cohiba II. buy the d4, really worth it. :cheeky:

i'M GOING TO bANGKOK on 20 Oct. But I always bring my own cigars which i have conditioned in my humidors. somehow, I find them nicer after the aromas marry and the flavors build up in my humidors.

Hi guys, plse note that it is not wise to bring in cigars without paying duty.

Do make a declaration even if it's a few sticks. Usually for such personal consumption , the officer may use discretion.

anyone has any ideas where i can sharpen my cutter?

cheers

Posted

Many cutters are made of surgical steel which requires no sharpening or are self sharpening. If your cutter needs sharpening, you may need to get a new one already.

A note on cutter:-

Base on my experience in buying cutters, dont go for the brand. Go for make quality which you can clearly see and feel.

Eg. Palio is a very well known and popular brand of cutter which is meant to be one of the best. But my CHF30 brandless german made cutter which has been with me for more than 4 years cuts cleaner and sharper than Palio.
