i got 2 cutters, one is cheap $20+ plastic cutter with SS bladde, clean cut and very sharp.

the other one is UNO italy made 'tears drop' shape SS cutter, looks very nice, but cannot perform a clean cut due to its cut at an angle, not pependicular to the cigar..

so get a cheap cutter, dont go for brand... waste my money... :weep: i should have save the money and bought some cigars...

My first post here while goggle for pipe/cigar in this country.

I'm not a biker, and not even have the license to drive, so way out of place on this forum.

The cutter is a copy of xicar, ifyou get the real xicar you'llsee that its real sharp thou a bit heavy in the pocket.

Nuvole, feel free to post. I am no authority in this forum, appreciate your politeness

yes the common design of XIKAR is like that.

but even the Xikar cutter is not great after some time.

The blades are a little too fat for my liking

havent doine a review for a long time but here's one of the Cuaba Salomon.

The Cuaba Salomon is a big cigar, one that would catch the attention of the non-cigar smokers and most often than not, the attention of cigar smokers too.

The one I had was very dark and oily. I have kept it in my humidor for about 2 months before pulling it out for a smoke after fasting for a week.

Prelit aroma is slight and below expectations for a dark oily big cigar.

Wrapper looked beautiful with no spots or veins. Draw was a little tight.

The small foot made lighting fast and easy.

Classic Cuban tobacco scents but relatively lighter than expected.

A tinge for saltiness accompanied fair volumes of smoke. Flavors not distinct at this stage but the meatiness of the salomon was present. Light tast of unsweeten cocoa and a tail end of bitterness was experienced throughout the smoke. Flavor, and taste slow to build up falling again below standards of an anticipated opulent smoke.

Highlight only really after half the cigar with the fuller flavors of leather when the toastiness of cuban tobacco permeated . scent however did not increase and the smoke was still weak in terms of volume due to draw. first ash drop was about 2 inches burning a dark greyish color. Burn was even and little relighting required.

The body is full at this stage. I was feeling the buzz which i have not experienced for a long time. Strength of the smoke and taste continued increasing although hampered by the occasional ammonia lace. The last inch somewhat turned more cardboardy couple with hieghtened bitterness. My tongue was dying.

Could do with a lot more aging as it was an early 2005.

Makes a great conversational piece but would prefer a tad more complexity and meatiness as well as smoke. Fairly enjoyable and may have been too long to smoke as a fast breaker.

Rating 6.5 over 10.

Thanks for the review.

Many smokers overseas have high regards for this cigar(another market hype?), glad to see it being review by our local guy.

hey nuvole, u smoke cigars too?

I'm a pipe smoker most of the time, but its no good smoking pipe during this wet season. So, I always keep a few box of cubas for this season.

Unlike Throttle, I only stick to a few brand.

These are the few cutter I use, the best one for the purpose is the one on top.

Sometimes, the simplest is always the best, no?

Rather a long list :cheeky:
