I kena tax like hell for my cigars. sibei sim tia....:sian:

but overall still cheaper so i still save i guess.

the cigars, i dont owe you but , i remember to offer you if we do sit down and smoke one day. dont worry.

i'm smoking one right now, el rey del mundo Choix supreme. medium light, but full of nutty flavor and roasted chocolate. creamy draw and excellent finish with not undertones of spice whatsoever. very easy to smoke.

Is it really cheaper bringing in the cigars then buying it in SGP?

Or its becos of the variety?

Posted

depends on where you buy from, Kitty.

Singapore has quite a good variety of cigars compared to other places like indonesia or thailand. Hong kong is also good.

Base prices in Singapore are generally higher then european countries comparing without taxes.

I went to Cuba, which is the birth place of the Habana, so it is cheaper for sure.

It was even cheaper half a year ago in Cuba before they raise prices by a whopping 30%!

Before, a Cohiba Robusto was about US$7.50 now it's US$10.60

Thats about S$17. Including tax, it cost S$21. but dont forget the trouble and effort + $3,000 air ticket.

In Singapore cigar shops a Cohiba Robusto cost at least $40.

I love Cuba!

Thats about right.

I remember buying for a friend and it cost like $51/- a piece from a pub restaurant.

But then, maybe it was smoke outdoors. I didnt find it that unpleasant.

And dipped in wine....Hear its fantastic.

Posted

hahahah, dipped in wine?

only fools or people who do not know a sh*t about cigars do that, Kitty.

Dont ever believe them. They just hearsay and talk big to impress people who dont know.

Smoke with wine , very nice. but not dip in wine.

Cigars are like sponges, you try dipping it in anything and it will absorb the moisture. Then all you'll have is a wet dripping cigar which is the total opposite of what it should be.

Maybe you can ask them to dip their cigarettes into cola, hyek hyek hyek.

On a serious note:-

The cigar factory takes at least two months to cure and ferment the leaves to dry them out and maintian the right humidity so as to give the cigar its taste and texture and feel. This long procedure can take up to two years depending on which make of cigar.

That's why i have 2 humidors to keep my cigars in perfect condition...

The cohiba Robusto if you buy it individually, it will cost you $48 to $52 in a normal cigar shop but pub, you pay more. I think with the increase in taxes, the cheapest now is no longer $42 but $45. sigh.......

That's right.....even then you gotta choose a proper, full-bodied sweet wine to go with it. Actually, port would have been better.

actually even with the toxic taxes i find cigars very affordable. in the days when i was addicted to cigarettes spend even more man!!!! with cigars u smoke less and appreciate more. i find $50-$100 very affordable for such enjoyment and luxury.

only bro Throttle can afford to fly to Cuba to visit the factories and smoke there

PS: Bro Throttle u got damn obiang tastes man....last time was your ring, now you wear a dress-jacket with a tee-shirt?!? wah lao not complementing your wealth and stature leh

poot.

bro, it's not a dress jacket.....

It's a casual leisure light weight pin striped linen suit lah, wah lau.....

Can wear it with anything as long as the color goes.

sometimes I wear it with my brunomagli sandals too.

I often take taylors 10 year port with cigars too. nice nice.

This one then is dark brown mustard pin stripe power suit for more formal events
