Great meeting Fooz last night. I had to leave early and couldn't meet Brash. Perhaps next time.

 

I must admit that Fooz picked up cigar smoking rather quickly, drawing copious amounts of smoke and tasting differences in the tobacco quite well. Much better than my first attempt, I must say..

nice to meet new pple last nite. i was quite amazed to see brash and his fren smoke a bolivar PC and a D4 last nite. apparently they prefer the stronger smokes. impressive... haha

Here's a Review after a long long time.

Time: 12midnite

Date:6 May 06

Beverage:Green Tea with milk

Munchies: Carr's Table Water biscuits with Danish Herb Brie

Climate: Cool, windless

Cigar : Sep 05 Trinidad Coloniales

 

Wrapper color is claro shade and veinless. Prelight draw a very sweet vanilla with slight saltiness. Draw was perfect. This coloniales was clean tasting and the ash burnt very white for a Cuban. Fair amounts of smoke with a beautiful even burn throughout. Clearcut toasty taste of vanilla evident. Finish was medium long but left little aftertaste. strength of cigar was just nice for a bedtime smoke. Good construction another hallmark of the trinidad as i was "forced" to break the ash against the ashtray even after almost 2 inches. absolutely no relighting required over this 70 minute smoke. while young, this cigar displayed little or no bite until the last third with very light bitterness in the mouth. complexity was however low as the cigar tasted somewhat the same from first to last inch. the lightness of this smoke blended well with the taste of green tea with milk as it permeates the taste buds. certainly a good modern tasting cigar which lacks a bit of body. indistinctive aroma was unwelcomed, as i enjoy aromas as much as taste and flavor.

Some maturing will surely bring out the well-like vanilla undertones and possibly more creaminess. overall very balanced and i score this 7 over 10. Recommended as a finishing smoke to end the day or a breakfast smoke which requires no anticipation. relatively high priced as it is a premium brand but comparatively value for money amongst the high end brands, being a 44 ring gauge.
