Hi nightstalker, thanks for the advise, i brought a RYJ Cedros De Luxe No.3. Waiting for this sat to try it. Just trying some $20++ cigar first before moving on. Want to try the partagas D no.4, but don't have a good place to store it. I am looking for a lighter and humidor to keep the cigar, most of the lighter and humidor price are a bit high for me and too many variety to choose from. I want to ask how you guys normally carry your cigar outside, do you guys have cigar case or pouch? Will placing the cigar in the case or pouch affect the humidity of the cigar during the journey? Is keeping cigar in a ziplock bag when travelling recommended? Haha too many knowledge to learn and sorry for asking so many question hope you guys can guide me along. Thanks.

hi ckunjie,

get reasonable price humidor from Ebay, their price pretty decent.

lighter can get normal butane lighter from pasar malam or anywhere, no need expensive one. or you can get $30+ plastic lighter at Oaks.

if you only has small amount of cigar, keep it in zip lock bag is alright, or you may use some air tight tupper ware or glass container.

you can get travelling cigar case if you want to bring your cigar out. you can put them in zip lock bag also, not a big issue.

Thanks sev,

A lot of humidor at ebay but i don't know much about how to deal online and not much trust in it, do they ship it to singapore? true that the price is much more cheaper than local cigar shop but like what you guys say i can't see, feel the product. Still headache over this issue. Maybe going to hong kong to compare the price with singapore.

I got a normal butane lighter, but always run out of gas or spoil. So thinking of getting a reliable lighter and affordable.

I am now keeping my cigar in a lock n lock tupper ware with some cedar sheet and block in it. The humidity seems fine around 75.

Anyway thanks for the advise cheers!

Hi guys, i just try the RYJ Cedros de luxe no.3 i don't really like it. It was very very light although it's was smooth but taste nothing much at all. Was it i didn't store it properly or this is just a normal very light cigar? What is a good choice for something middle and not too ex for my budget, maybe $20-$30?

hey ckunjie, u can try partagas shorts or bolivar petic coronas, they are about 16 dollars each. The bolivar has a strong flavour that u might like. For ard 30 odd dollars u can get a partagas p2 or mote cristoe no.2. Both are pirimida. i bolivar and partagas shorts from habanos suntec. U can try oaks at tanglin mall too.

suntec habanos , no point going. prices are terrible, only to cheat tourists. oaks is ok.

Hey brash thanks a lot for the recommend, it seems pretty good to me, i read the cigars-review.org and they give pretty good comments as well. Can't wait to go down to oaks to get the bolivar petit coronas and partagas shorts. I am thinking of buying partagas p2 and monte cristo no.2, it seems quite a favourite among you guys. But how you cut a Piramide? Never try a piramide before, very eager to try one.

Ckunjie, a pyramides is cut using a double-blade cutter. Make a small cut first if thats the first time you're cutting the cigar. Then cut more off if the draw is still too tight. Once you've smoked enough of the vitola, you'll have a guage of how much of the tip to cut off.

tonite, I cant stay long, probably only 1 smoke.

Hi guys, how's the outing? What a waste can't join you all. I brought my partagas shorts and bolivar petit coronas today at oaks(orchard parade hotel). I just finish partagas shorts 5 mins ago, wah it was really a great cigar with strong character in a small cigar. Full of coffee, choco and spicy. I like it very much, although short smoke but really enjoy it. Low price and good cigar, thanks a lot BRASH Now waiting to try my bolivar petit coronas this weekend.

Anymore medium to strong cigar to recommend for me and my wallet haha.

Find out from oaks today that the lowest price for a decent humidor is around 200++, can't really part with that money right now to get a humidor, but i am also worry that my cigar will get ruin if i don't store properly, now i am using only lock n lock to keep my cigar with cedar sheet. Maybe going to hong kong to compare the price of humidor with singapore. Cheers!

Humidors in Hong Kong are priced about the same as Singapore if you buy from cigar shops.

The Siglo brand is popular and well made (although in China)

Perhaps you can find other well made humidors in Hong Kong or ShenZhen. I'm going HK next week myself. enjoy

If you're not too particular about your humidors and do not mind internet transactions, I'd recommend getting your humidor from ebay worldwide. Prices differ greatly from as low as S$50 to thousands for a branded Elie Bleu humidor. Take your time to pick and choose.

For those new to the lifestyle of cigar-smoking, I always recommend getting a travel humidor as your first humidor. Usually it's 20 sticks capacity and below. When start getting more and more cigars, you can always buy a "full-fledged" humidor and "convert" your travel humidor to its original purpose: to bring cigars with you when you travel.

ebay's a pretty gd place to buy a humidor. i got mine from ebay as well and i paid abt S$140 or so including shipping.

ckunjie, maybe u can try the ramon allones small club coronas. its below 20. it was the first cuban cigar tat i bought. haha... maybe i shd buy tat to try again someday. sure brings back memories...

anyway, im off to Kl tom. will be back on sun nite. enjoy ur weekend smoke guys!!

I like to buy from ebay but not sure if they ship to singapore. A lot of humidor in ebay but some only ship in US only. Just email a few to ask whether do they ship to singapore. Also find out that a lot of knowledge to set up the humidor and maintain the condition. Maybe going down to buy ramon allones small club coronas this weekend. Haha
